How much do you spend on Food each month?
Hey guys... honestly how much do you spent on food each month? I eat healthy (which costs more) high protein (costs more) and I feel like I am going broke.
I am regulating my cardio and work outs because if I do too many I can't afford the food.
Don't get me wrong Im not broke but in the recession not doing as well as I used to.
But right now I am 28, 6', 205lbs and lifting 3x a week Im spending about $1200-$1500+ a month on food between the store and eating out lunch once a day.
What do you guys spend??

Are you seriously $300 a month on food? Honestly break it down for me. Thats unbelievably low, can you give me a sample of what you eat for a day or two?
I do need to hit costco.. its a 35min drive...but... I just get sick of eating the same shit constantly too.

1 cup of oatmeal 4 eggwhites 1 yolk 1 slice of fat free cheese
2nd meal
chicken cutlet tea spoon of oatmeal
3rd meal
hard boiled egg tuna with tea spoon of penut butter

1,500 a month? That's a ton bro.....
I buy a 5lb log of burger for about 7 bucks. It has more fat but it's easy to drain while cooking.
I buy fresh chicken breast for under $2 a lb. I've bought under a buck a pound.
I buy a 4lb can of chunk light chicken of the sea tuna for under $8
Steak.....i try to keep it under $3 a lb. But I'll buy chuck steak most of the time for about $2 a lb.
For carbs I eat whole wheat pasta, I'll cook it with burger and some spaghetti sauce. Read the labels on your sauces, you'll find they are actually pretty low in sugar, lower than marinara.
THey have some really healthy tortilla's now, season some of that beef or chicken and you can eat a burrito pretty healthy.
I'll even eat a small portion of instant mashed potatoes with fat free ranch, but brown rice is about free.
For shakes, I just use the cheap whey off the shelf at walmart.
I don't fall into the marketing game, and I don't have convenient food in my house short of some bananas.
I eat 3,850 calories right now, but in the summer when I'm more active I'll eat over 4.5k calories. 29, 210lbs @sub 10

thanks for the input guys. I am going to buy a separate extra freezer. I just dont have room in my tiny freezer to keep that much meat. Then Im going to start hitting up costco.
With all the money I can save on food I an start running 6iu's a day of GH! ahaha...
Have you seen plain whey at walmart?
All your prices are so low. I live in a small town and shop the local vons and other markets, the prices are absurd!!!!!
I can't remember the last time I saw chicken breast under $7 a lb and steaks under $8 a lb.
Ive never tried chuck steak it doesnt look very good, how do you cook n eat that shit? Does it taste decent?
Im gettin burned out on pasta I gotta switch to brown rice for a while.
Thanks guys. I appreciate the input!
I just get so sick of all the same flavors too.

I gotta shop atleast 1 once a week. My fridge can't hold food for any longer than that though. I think I need to get a supplementary extra freezer!
