    The women made a clear mistake. You never go face first into a strange dog. Even with a friendly dog its not a great idea. What was she thinking? Did she think the dog was sitting there saying " boy Im a happy dog and so grateful these humans rescued me, I hope that chick that wont shut up tries to kiss me". Classic example of anthropomorphism.
