I wouldn't ever question the advice from you guys here because I probably wasn't born and you guys were still lifting, but I have noticed steady increases in strength, and I look a great deal better. I give each muscle about 48 hours to rest. To add, I'm not a noob but my lifts aren't great either. My bench is 240ish, 315 squat and around 415 deadlift. I would say I'm still a novice. To add, my weight is at 195 lbs and I plan to cut to 185 using this method and when I start my bulk, I will cut back to a 3-4 times a week strength program.
If I notice a decline in strength then I'd know I'm losing mass and worry then but if my strength is slowly increasing or even stagnating on this cut, should I sill worry?
I notice my body responds best to more extreme regiments. And I'm also not doing this all just for the purpose of reaching that goal. I genuinely like the gym. It's my hobby and what I look forward to.
