anyone try the lumosity site?
I have been seeing these commercials for the Lumosity site. Supposedly it's a siThe that Is to use to side in gained knowledge capasity to increase your brain function compacity concerning problem solving act.
my foster kids are about two grades behind their learning. & I was checking out the site as a bonus for them. I'm thinking if they spend 20 minutes a day and playing on it then I'll give them a dollar each day they do it for incentive.
But I'm curious if anyone has tried the site and has noticed any actual difference in their lives as far as learning or understanding um basic comprehension our problem solving...
I was hoping it was a free site or free app but its not you have to pay to use it so before I do any investment I really want to make sure it'll actually have benefits for the kids. Any input is appreciated

kids stuff you say... Like 8th grade stuff? Do you think if you were in middle school or freshman in high school going to the site would have helped you at all by any chance?

I tried the limited app and I can see Austin's point, but it was fun for a few days. I'm a bit more easily entertained maybe

Thanks all. I think I will pass on signing the kids up for now. I was just hoping it would be something to give them a leg up or maybe bring them up to speed on their education need they missed with their biological family. This doesn't seem quite like what I need. I decided to go the IEP route and get them some special services :-) thanks again I appreciate the input

Hey Sexy
Have you heard of the Khan Academy? It's like having a tutor for practically any subject in any grade, and it's free!!
CHECK it out, and if you find it useful, you can buy me a beer, fair enough?

actually I have it bookmarked :-) I use it to help me with my statistics homework. I mean like where you're thinking is going but I don't think this is quite what the kids need. Maybe I should check out the 6th grade level assignments and 4th and 5th grade is well.. Since the kids are about to 2grade levels behind in their class work.
Thanks tr I wouldn't even have thought of this without your suggestion :-)
