The only reason that I had a cortisone shot was for acne. It worked great, got rid of the bump on my face

I have had 2 cortisone shots on my shoulder. The cortisone shots really helped with the pain and mobility (especially the first one). The really brutal side effect was I couldnt get good pumps in the weight room for about a week after each cortisone shot. My muscles felt really weak and i looked noticably more flat. Wasnt until a few years after I learned that taking lots of glutamine after a cortisone might have a good effect. Lots of people I know who have to have cort shots really work hard to keep their bodies in a non catabolic state with diet and supplements.

I had one before when I partially torn my rotator cuff when
i was like 26... didn't help me all that much to be honest if
anything it just kind of masks the pain IMO, but it's not gonna
fix anything... What's wrong with your shoulder?

Have you had a X-Ray and MRI done yet?
My tear was only a partial tear and with PT
and about 6 months out of the gym it got
better... **** thing took forever to heal...
Also to be perfectly honest a cycle of Deca
and Test is what finally healed it 100% in my
opinion Deca works miracles for some...

Wow, I just posted about cortisone shots in the powerlifting forum. I was preparing for a powerlifting meet last year and I hurt my rotator cuff about 3 weeks out or so. I went to three doctors before they convinced me the only way I could still compete was to get the injections. I was not going to flush the training and money for this meet down the drain so I got two injections. One in the front delt, one in the rear. That night the pain got worse but when I got up the next morning the pain was 90% gone. Pretty amazing. I have heard they can weaken tendons and make you even more prone to injury so I would not recommend getting them unless you have to.

I've had several in the arm for tennis elbow. Generally, the doctors don't seem to worry about having 1 or 2 in the same area. It does weaken the tendon although I don't think it's permanent. And if the alternative is permanent inflammation because the **** thing won't heal, it's worth doing, IMO.
You have to rest the area for a while after since it is weakened.
