question about dht

Is there anything positve that dht does for you. For instance if you are to take finasteride to lower it would you have any side effects, or notice any undesireble effects. Is there any problems you might notice down the road if you use finasteride at a younger age for hair loss. What would lower dht levels effect in my body in the long run>

Thanks i know this is confusing but form what ive read has made me curious about finasteride, because like steorids change your hormones, i was wondering what effects finasteride has on the body negative and postive by changing the dht hormone levels.
