Steroids dont stunt growth

I was reading jose canseco's book and noticed he claimed that he was 5'11 "when he was 20. At 20 years old jose started taking steroids , however now, so many years later he is 6'4" 250 lbs. If Steroids stunt your growth how do you explain this?

I think he's full of shit and the only thing he used was DHEA on a 10mg a day dose!

I believe it is estradiol that closes your growth plates which happens when testosterone aromatises. Maybe he was taking letro or other AIs. I read a study on pubmed (i think?) about using letrozole during middle to late puberty to prevent the closure of ur plates and maybe get a little bit taller.

The estrogen and not the test is waht causes the epiphysial (sp) plates to close.

Possibly, but you also have to look out for an estrogen rebound once the cycle is done.

No, their endocrine system is still developing, AAS can "confuse" it and cause permanent damage.

I don't think stunting your growth can cause any real problems other then you can't grow any taller.

Well then explain a trainer at my gym with size 12 shoes, he's 27 years old, 5 ft 4 inches (his foot size suggest he would have been over 6 ft) and he claims he did roids at 18 and actually shrunk an inch since doing roids instead of completing growth which usually happens at age 23 to 24.

If you start using steroids at a young age you will not grow any taller. But you brains will keep on growing so will your head. So you will be small and have a big head. Good luck finding a girl... Look at Jeff "The box" . He head is to ****ing big for his lean body. Thats what you get when you start steroids at 16.

you will grow , just not to your full potential, but if you take hgh at a young age that actually would probably help you grow, since growth plates still open. maybe he took hgh?
