Is everyone here a bodybuilder, and why you started AAS
I was just wondering if everyone on here is an aspiring body builder, a pro/ameteur bodybuilder or are there other people like me who started, just to get bigger and stronger?
Just some quick background, I am a retired (medically) Army sgt. who got blown up over seas. I did physical therapy for several years, and never gained back leg strength. I finally got sick of it and tried AAS for the first time, and I have never been happier. It hurts alot to do these leg exercises, but for the first time in years my leg strength has improved. I hit 310 pound squats today, so i am thrilled. Just wondering if there is anyone else out there who is just doing it for themselves?

Good to hear you're back and doing better! I am doing it for myself too. I get mistaken for a bodybuilder, but I really started AAS to come back from a shoulder injury. But I loved what it did for me all-around, so I continue with it. I may never step on a stage anywhere, but I am a healthier, stronger person for using AAS for sure!!

Thank you for the sacrifice you made for us, brother! I started my personal journey with AAS as an aspiring bb. Before starting I spent a few years in the Marines, and was in the best shape of my life! I've had a great run as a competitive bb (nothing big, placed in a few local npc shows), but I miss the way I was in the military. I recently found my happy balance by combining bb style training with training methods I used while in the Corps (run 3-6miles with weight vest, ect.) Although tough at first, I feel much better with this style. Also kept me from burning out!!! Good to hear of your progress, I think you are a great example of the medicinal benefits of hormone modulation.

Medically retired USN Corpsman.
Started off with First Mar Div - then moved on to naval special warfare. Worked with the SBU's then went through buds.
Got hurt overseas in a 'training' accident.
Never really gained full strength in my shoulder or leg until I started with AAS.
Couldn't be happier.

Since I am no longer going to grow vertically (5'6 25yrs old) I am not focusing on growing horizontally
I do not compete, just do it for me.

Awesome. Thanks for the responses. I feel so much better now that I use AAS. AAS doesn't mask the pain in my body, but it alows me to build quicker and better. I am so happy that I am recovering after all these years, by doing something that is "illegal". Tell congress to start spending that money on crack and gang violence prosecution and leave us people alone.

Was an athelete as a child, and joined the Marines right out of high school. Medical discharge because of car accident. Started boxing in my late twentys as a hobbie, but tore a shoulder. Fell WAY out of shape, and now finally back in shape. Tired of wishing I looked like the guys at the gym and decided to try on a pair of big guns for myself!

Personally i do modeling .. and i would like to start doing fitness modeling so i want to pack on a little but of size and get shredded as hell ..
i once had plans to compete actually but i gave up on that , maybe somewhere in the future i'll do a competition or 2 just for fun .
LADIES ! not to mention chicks like a big set of guns . even the ones who are in denial who dont like " juice bags " still find em hot as hell , they start touchin u sayin woowwww u must be soo strong its great , i love it ..
and it also makes you look intimidating , not all but some .. if you have "THAT" look plus a big ass body then you can surly scare the hell outta people its great : D

I started them for competition. I love the way that they make me feel and I love the goals that I can reach with them. I love to be on that stage, and want to make sure that I am leaving nothing behind.

I wish I had a real noble reason for doing aas, but I don't. It was because I was tired of always being the thin guy. I found this forum, started a strict diet and training routine, and put on a solid 35 lbs in 5 months... natty. I had lifted for years without ever getting any good results... I know now it was a diet thing. After getting such good results I decided to add aas to the mix.. I am in the middle of my 2nd cycle right now and have put on 74lbs in a year.
For the first time in my life this past weekend someone told me I look like a body builder.... The scary thing is that I look in the mirror and still see that same skinny guy... even after 74lbs......lol I won't say aas changed my life, but I will say it helped me change my life for the better....

I'm retired (medically) Army sgt. also. What was your MOS? I was 11b ABN RNG Did 5 years 11 Months. Just out 2003 got riped my LCL. They ORDERED me to reclass I ordered them to kiss my ass. They drooped me to an E4. Then told me to reclass or get kicked out. I was like ummm be a desk ranger or get a check and work around my wife and kids. So I got a medical. Ranger Class 06/97. After "my army turned its back on me" (Yea I know thats bull shit now) I went in to depression real bad went from 185 to 230 in about a year all fat. Worked my way back to 203 or so now. Soon as I get down to about 185 190 again I will start AAS. I will have to say for myself, for my mind, and best yet so my kids will look at me and be happy to tell their friends as school "thats my dad there"

nice thread here. nice to read some of the reasons we hop on the juice. i for one started when i was younger (19-20) cant remember but it was for the sole purpose of gettin BSF (bigger stronger faster) for college ball. since then i have cycled for the sole purpose of me, to better my physic and bring me to my next level. i can only say that i love being "on" as its over all effect on me is a much higher sense of well being and confidense like a bull!! oh yeah the size and strength gains are great too

Stated in college when I was playing D1 Athletics. Tried to make up for the lack of knowledge I had about Nutrition. Stupid and not worth it.
Things are a bit different now and my goals no longer revolve around athletics.

I bodybuild and use AAS to aid in this for the following reasons:
1) ME ME ME, I love getting stronger, bigger, and staying lean.
2) For my girlfriend, she loves my body.
3) Helps in sports.

I bodybuild because I consider my body a canvas, and I'm the artist. Arnold honestly said it best in Pumping Iron. I have the exact same philosophy.
