Pain when injecting and blood after pulling out...

Do you guys think i hit a vein? I started injecting my gluteus and then it was painful put i pushed the needle all the way in and injected. when i took the needle out...blood was just leaking out until i put a alcohol swab on it. then it immediately stopped. It has been 15 minutes and there is still a stinging pain at the injection site. has this ever happened? should i be worried?

When u injected the glute did u aspirate ? what size needle did u use? Take your time injecting, don't force anything in. A little blood coming out won't kill you.

ya a little blood wont hurt.. it usually stops within seconds.....

Needle was 1.5'' and 23G. I did aspirate when i was all the way in and air came up and therefore injected. I tried to stand up and inject but i think I will try to lay down next time...

no. standing up and was hella shaking

If you aspirated then I think you are fine. Sometimes it bleeds a little more than others it doesnt always mean you hit a vain.

the shaking can damage the mucle tissue and cause pain and soreness..... this was your first time i guess? it gets easier. some areas bleed more than others my glutes never bleed my delts bleed like lika mother...

same with me.. sometimes once in a while I get a bit of juice coming out also.....

Yep, did a glute shot with a 23g yesterday and had some leakage. Rare, but not the first time it's happened to me.

You're good man...the shot I did today in my right glute bled quite a bit when I pulled out. The stinging you prolly felt was the alcohol swap on the injection site (alcohol burns! lol), I did the same shit. Feels fine now. (12 hrs later)

for you fellas leaking juice, you might want to try and utlize the Z-track method when injecting, if you don't already. (pull the skin to one side, inject, and then release. this allows for the skin to actually seal in the juice in the muscle).

well the only problem with that is that if your finger slips, and the skin moves the pin, you stand the chance to tear the muscle.. and that does not feel good at all.. Id much rather take a swab for 10 seconds afterwards.....
