Do you feel anti-estrogens during heavy cycles are a must?

personally, in the past, i normally only used anti-estrogens at the end of my cycles during pct. however, after reading many of the threads about anti-e's, it seems most people encourage taking nolva while on a cycle.

my issue with this is that anti-e's reduce the effectiveness of gear, and so in taking them, you're cheating yourself out of some of the gains you'd make from the gear. so, if you know you're not succeptible to gyno, is there any other reason to take nolva with a cycle?

i'm sure that when taking heavy doses of test it's a must, but i've gone up to sust at 750mg/week during one of my cycles and had no problems with gyno. i just want to get as much out of my cycles as possible and if i don't need to pop the extra nolva's during my cycle, i'd rather save the $, get those extra gains, and pop one less thing during my cycles. let me know what you guys think. thanks.

i dont believe that they reduce the effectiveness...i think you will get less water which turns out less poundage on the scale..you dont water water anyways as it will just disappear..unless you are looking for the temporary soft watery kinda look

I always run AI/SERMS during + after cycles. You can adjust dose according to how your respond to them, or just keep them on hand incase of potential problems.

for those that agree anti-e's don't reduce gears effectiveness, you might want to check the thread called "anabolic phases explained". though they don't actually reduce the gears effectiveness directly, they affect other chemical processes in the body which compliment the gear.

i think i'll avoid anti-e's when i can during cycles and just hang onto some just in case like "ibdmfkr" suggested.

also, the comment you don't want the extra water? extra water retention may increase bp, but it also provides better lubrication for joints and connective tissues. if extra water in the system is no good, then creatine would be worthless.

if that is what you want it there for then thats fine..bloat away i know some people that like the puffy bloated look just so they look bigger and the scale is up..i dont cycle so i cant comment i just know a LOT of people that do..so i learn about the stuff plus im in school for exercise science and nutrition...but back to the water retention issue..most people dont want to look bloated from what i know they would rather the hard and defined look and no moon face thats why i dont use creatine monohydrate i use cee because i feel that it gives me way less water retention because i want to look hard and defined and less puffy and smooth

i understand completely. some people don't like the look and don't want people thinking anythings up when they get puffy. i was under the impression you were making the extra water retention out to be a bad thing altogether.

personally, i'm not a big fan of the puffy look, and take water retention into consideration when on the scale. i think if you're trying to keep yourself looking good, then of course do anti-e's. but i think if you want to get the most from your gear, it's best to just let the estrogen do it's thing. again though, this is something that i know is not suggested on excessively high doses of aromatizing aas.
