fighting this weekend mma in vegas!

I have a question on lasix. I am weighing around 198lbs. I am cutting weight to weigh in on friday 185lb. I fought a few weeks ago and won but was very tired from cutting weight the day before and a friend gave me four lasix to help me drop the water so I did not have to kill myself with excercise in the sauna the day before the big fight. What is the best way to take these. I am not sure I am even going to use them. Thanks for any help.

    thats 13lb in 3 days!
lasix is a very potent diuretic,it will definitely shed water weight quickly.
however it will also leave you very drained and dehydrated.
overdosing lasix is very dangerous resulting in possible death.
ensure if your determined to use them that you know precisely what dosage they are.

not to be an ass, but this is coming from a felow mma'r. You should have had your diet in check well before this fight. A diet is not something you do for a week, it is something that you maintain all season. You will fight better if you maintain a consistant weight, either that or move up to 205. Lasix is no joke.

I had to fight in KC at 205 and I needed to take the fight so I am trying to get back down for the 185 fight with the WEF at the Orleans. I am fighting TJ Cook from Fla. I am not sure if I am going to use the lasix I just thought it might help the water cutting.

I would not use this if you are looking to be competitive against another human being who is properly conditioned/hydrated/ready to remove your head.

Cramping, loss of strength, energy, no pump or leverage within the muscles, etc.
Not what I'd call an advantage at all.

Thanks Swole I think I am just going to tough it out in the sauna. This is a real important fight Saturday night and I dont want to mess it up so I am going to trash the lasix and fight the sauna. I truly appreciate yall coming on and warning me before I tried this and it backfired on me. I should not have taken the 205 fight so close to this fight but I had a chance to beat a guy who has fought Matt Hughes and Jeremy Horn so I put on the weight and won. Now I am strugling to get back down.

Who was that if you don't mind my asking? I am about 1/2block away from Militech's gym right now.

Ron Fields. It wasnt much of a fight. He went for a guitene choke and I picked him up and slammed him down and he tried to catch himself and broke his arm horribly. I felt terrible, it was the worst break Ive seen.

...... I applaud your decision to not use Lasix. Abuse of a potent diuretic like this can lead to sever imbalance of electrolytes, which causes heart arrythymia and possible death. Diuretic abuse is rampant among pro bodybuilders, and has caused the death of a few. Mohammed Benaziza comes to mind.
Even if you do it right, you will suffer weakness and muscle cramping like Swolecat said.
Put it away and hit the sauna!

Done, I am so glad I came on and ask this because I was going to use them without any real knowledge of them. The good lord must have told me to ask cuz it just didnt feel right. I had a friend who's grandfather has a script and he told me he did not know much about it but knew that it cut water. So I cant thank you all enough. I dont know if you read my other text but the fight has been changed, my challenger dislocated an elbow and is out so now I am fighting at 205. Go Figure!!
