    Hypertension.

How high does your blood pressure get during cycle? What is too high before you sound the alarm bells?

I sometimes get to 150/90...which probably isn't too bad, but I wonder would would be considered risky before you take action.

Temporary BP spikes are not a big deal and they can happen frequenly. Hypertension (which 150/90 is considered) has a "dose/time" relationship. In other words, the higher your BP the less time it takes to do aterial damage. You should also check you Cholesterol (HDL/LDL/Triglycerides) and make sure they are in check. Combine Hypertension with a high LDL level or Poor LDL/HDL ratio...its like asking for atherosclerosis to start. Once blockage (atherosclerosis) starts it is very difficult to reverse (High doses of Statin drugs...which BB will stay away from due to possible muscle wasting disease). It is wise for everyone to buy a BP monitor or get it checked often to spot any trends and rectify the situation. Since, Hypertension is silent....it oftem goes unchecked for long periods. Some people feel its no big deal if they don't exhibit any physical symptoms (an attitude they may change if they develop CHD)

ya once you pass 150 systolic u should make sure you are monitoring it and try to do things to reduce that. 150 at rest is kinda high. if you are getting the 150 at rest check it about a half hour to an hour after your workout. hawthorne berry is a known supplement to help reduce it. actually if you google search it you can probably find a bunch of ways to help it.
