I've never seen anything that provides a positive correlation between steroids and kidney stones.

It is the large volume of protein you consume that will stress your kidneys.

Echo that....for every gram of PRO you consume you excrete 1.5mg of CA in your urine. The best thing to do is to have a dietician (with a sports nutrition concentration) perform a dietary analysis and give a more precise amount to consume. Most dieticians with this type of concentration are aware that AAS and training increases the amount of dietary PRO needed. The problem is that supplement companies and muscle mags are usually in it together to make a buck (sell product and more ads) and recommend far too much for most athletes. RD's are the only ones qualified to make these decisions.

agreed... while even they dont always know what is optimal.... still lots of research needs to be done in that field.. at least they will know what is safe.. Remember a while back when FDA said that no one needs over a gram of protein per kg... not even athletes.. now athletes are suggested to use 2.2 g's...

but I have to add that I agree with cyclist that IMO many ppl here advocate using too high doses of protein.. When enough CH are consumed i see no reason to eat massive amounts of protein.. now would 3 g's a kg produce better results than 2 g's a kg, maybe.. nut 4 compared to 3 etc... dont know... seen some conflicting data too though..
