I think you are right IronCy and jrock. I really don't think your checked baggage is searched that much and even if they did find pins or whatever they won't do anything.\

Not to be a bearer of bad news here, but I recently flew and they checked everything very thoroughly. Anything sharp would be seized. Hell, they were even taking toe nail clippers. Just be careful, bro! Good luck and have a safe trip.

Were you checking those bags or were your carrying them on? Thats the difference...check all your goodies.
