M.D said prostate removed at 50 with steroids
I went to see my doc in the last day or two and he said that when I have nothing to worry about now but when I am 50 my prostate will have to be removed because I did a cycle and I have a history of prostate problems in my family. NO CANCER mind you at all just enlarged prostates.
This is only my 2nd cycle in my life I am 39 pushing 40
Now I take Saw Palmetto which is suppose to keep test from turning into
DHT. I know when I started the cycle it hurt to pee three days of Saw Palmetto no prostate pain period.
I do not know if he was trying to scare me or if there is some science behind what he is saying. It was a very creepy meeting to say the least.
I left feeling like a tire that all the air had been released from.
I mean I have only been on for 4 weeks and while I originally planned to do a 10 week since I am a middle aged guy I choose to go for the 6 week instead
I did not tell him I was doing roids I told him about my "supplements" and
how they caused me nipples to get puffy etc...
I said is this for sure and said well you are at the highest risk.
Have any Docs told you guys this before.

Question for the Doc
Ask him how many class/reasearch hours of study into AAS. I know alot of doctors and they all advise against AAS use and they all admit that they had about one hour of instruction in AAS. Seriously, an hour. MD doesn't mean shit. They're often cocky as they've knowledge that the average guy doesn't yet parroting AAS=Baaaaaaaad is a signal of abject ignorance and the prostate thing.......get a new MD. Seriously. The human body is far too complicated for such a generalization even with a family history of prostate problems. I wouldn't trust my health to a DOC who made any such general comment. JMHO

Well first up your Dr is a fvcking idiot and you need to find another one !!!! He has told you your Prostate will have to be removed ? OMG I am steaming just writing this. Now I am 51 and I have exactly what he is talking about. Its called Benign Prostate Hyperlasia or BPH.
Now at least 90% of men have this in some form or other by the time they turn 50 !!! And removal IS NOT the treatment. If it cant be controlled with drugs such as Proscar, Advodart and Hytrin, then what they do is reduce its size, the main side effect of this is that when you ejaculate it doesnt shoot out of your dick any more, it fires backwards into your bladder and you piss it out later with urine. Not my idea of fun, I like to see the chics run for cover when I shoot. By the way, they do this operation through the eye of your dick as well !!! They would only remove it if you had advanced cancer and radiation therapy had already failed.
By the way, if the Prostate is completely removed, you will never be able to have sex again, did the dickhead explain that to you ?
So seriously, you need to keep an eye on it, not just finger tests but ultra sounds as well.
As far as testosterone is concerened, I have done a lot of research on this and test is not the problem. How could it be when most enlargement occurs in old age when test levels have dropped to nothing. The probable cause is Estrogen. Now if I were you I would hit google and start learning about this so that you are educated when you have to deal with idiots like your doctor.Last edited by Kale; 07-15-2006 at 09:44 PM.

i would have to agree with what has already been said above... medicine is too general of a category for any one person to master everything there is to know about it... this is why they break medicine into subcategories and specialties.
anyway... short story: the other day i had to go into a walk in clinic because I got an infection in one of my injection sites. i had this egg of an infection on my lat and i needed some antibiotics so I went to the clinic. I see a doctor and a nurse at the same time and they're convinced that it's poison ivy.
i told them, no it's not poison ivy... i used to do landscaping and i know what poison ivy is. the doc continues... no this is really bad poison ivy, it's even growing vesicles. now i was hoping I wasn't going to have to say i was on the juice, but they were so fixed on the idea of poison ivy that this could never have been an infection.
so anyway i tell them i had just injected into this site and that i was almost certain that this was an injection infection and i needed antiobiotics. and in fact those are not vesicles, but stretch marks. for the next twenty minutes i just had to bite my tongue as these two tagteamed me with all the bad things about steroids and why i shouldn't use them... most notably the fact that i will get roid rage and end up in jail.
in the end, however, i got my perscription and the infection is almost all gone. I now realize first hand the importance of doing my own research and not taking doctor's or anyone else's advice first hand. don't let yourself get all freaked out about one (quite possibly ignorant) opinion.
and honestly, i do not think that two cycles will seal your fate and definitlely give you prostate cancer... but do yourself a favor and arm yourself with as much information as you can.
Best Regards,
