Registered mail and signatures
I ordered from a foreign source this spring. The first order was seized and i finally got a customs letter months later. My source required a new name and address to resend the gear so I got a po box and put my girlfirends name on it also. The source resent to my po box in her name but sent the stuff registered mail. My question is if the post office will let me sign for the package, or if they require the actual person it is addressed to to come in and show identification. She has no idea about any of this so I am kind of in a bind if they won't let me sign for it. What should I do? Anyone have experience signing for other peoples packages? How about having to show identification when they sign? Thanks for any help.

Bro,getting a customs letter means that your pack got siezed(caught)..meaning that more than likely your addy is red flagged and you for sure lost your stuff and money.Bro as far as your dilemma...you can look at it 2 ways...registered mail has to be signed by someone...so it can be that or you can let it go....Quite honestly I would never use anyone I care about to do that...

the card you got sayin to pick up the parcel should state whether or not actual person is required, generally anyone can sign for a package unless otherwise stated. I am a postman but i live in Australia!

I used her name because I was out of options. Its my last effort to get the gear I paid for 10 months ago. I did not get any notice from the post office yet. I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect if this time the package makes it through customs. If I can sign for it when it comes then no big deal. If not then Its probably going to get left at the post office. Anyone know if the post office will let you sign for somebody elses package?
