    HI, I'm takeing levothyroxine 350mcg daily. what dosage is optimal for weight loss? I'm hypothyroid and I really need lose weight, I know is not solution, but I need something helpfull, I workout 6 days, eating very clean, Im counting caloriees, no junk, no soda, no carbs except veggies and 1 piece of bread in the morning.
    But the question what dosage is helpfull for losing weight???

    This isn't a supplement question by the way..

    "levothyroxine" is 'synthroid '.. the sythetic t4 (thyroid drug).

    Moving this thread to the steroid forum...as it is a question of a hormonal nature.

    350 mcg is high for an individual with a healthy thyroid. I believe 400 mcg is the most i've used.

    You noted you however are hypo-thyroidic.. Male or female?

    Manipulating your synthroid dosage is a touch and go issue. Honestly you've admitted to knowing that it is not the way to go and so should look into different avenues.

    With regard to the dose... 350 mcg brings you to baseline correct?

    Synthroid dosages for fat loss range from 100 mcg.. to 400 mcg generally.

    To bump your metabolic rate you'd have to add between 100 to 400 mcg to your baseline dosage

    That'd put you at 450 to 850 mcg. I couldn't in good conscience advise you to ingest that much of this compound however... so definately i think you need to seek another route.

    More specifically.. dailing in your diet and cardio.

    I'll explain.

    Weight sessions.. i'd suggest an average of 4 per week.

    Cardio sessions 4-6 per week.. 45 minutes to 1 hour in duration.

    Numbers are just that... numbers

    They only bear relevance if there's a benchmark for you to relate them too.

    e.g. a 250 lb male @ 3% bodyfat consuming 1800 kcals.. is starving himself.

    whereas a 250 lb slob @ 40 % bodyfat consuming 1800 kcals may be consuming the appropriate number of kcals to maintain his 'muscle mass'.

    This statement alone makes me think that your diet is seriously lacking.

    Fuel is needed for fat loss.. Undereating is like shooting yourself in the foot.

    No carbs?.. one piece of bread? Bah.

    Post your workout up in the workout forum.. and we'll proceed from there
