Too Old?
Hi everyone-looking for some advice, I just turned 40 in August, I've been lifting for around 20 years. When i first started I weighed in at 130lbs (Im 5'9) & benched 95 for a set of 6. 20 years later I now weigh 182 & can hit 295 for a clean rep & squat in the mid 400s with good form. I have tried every OTC supplement available & have gotten some good results from creatine (particularly 1st cycle) I feel like I've maxed my potential & have decided you only live once....... Anyway my main concern with gear is my age-anybody out there do their get started at 40? Any advice or input would be vastly appreciated!

Shit I hope you arnt too old to juice at 40 I started at 47 and I am 51 now and still doing it. Its the best thing I ever did. The only thing I would suggest is that you get a full set of blood tests including PSA before you start so that you have a baseline to work from. Oh and make sure you have a woman that likes to fvck because you will be doing a lot more of that as well

Too Old??
I was over 50 when I did my first cycle. The only advice I can offer is to make sure that you research any cycle you are considering closely. I'm getting ready to do another cycle now of test p, deca , anavar and long igf and I'm not concerned about it. The only concerns I have are in regards to the quality of the gear/ugl. And I don't think there is any moral issue with anyone making a private decision to do, or not do an aas cycle. The only issue is in regards to encouraging someone too young to try it, or taking advantage of someone. Have at it mate and enjoy it. Nobody is going to tell me what I can and can't do, especially the govt.

Hell no. Get started. Do plenty of research first so you know what you are doing and yes, get some bloodwork done for baseline like Kale said. Enjoy. Never too old. Just too young.

You're in your prime, bro. I'm Fifty and have done 3 cycles. I would advise you get a full blood work up, Lipid panel HDL, LDL, etc., and PSA test. The biggest risk factors at 40-60 are ****ed up lipids, prostate problems, BP and liver enzymes. So get checked; before during and after cycle.
Plenty of info on this board regarding cycles and PCT...YOU ARE NOT TOO OLD. I know guys the use gear in their 60's. They are bad ass Mo Fo's.

Congratulations! You're at the age when you're still young enough to get great results from lifting weights, yet you're old enough to qualify for legitimate Testosterone Replacement Therapy from your Doctor!
When you get your baseline Test. checked, say you've been feeling lazy, unproductive, lost interest in sex, putting on weight, etc. etc.
You could end up with a legit. script for a few cc's of Test. per week upon which to build the rest of your cycle.
Most of the biggest guys in my gym are in their mid-40's to 50's. Don't know how long they've been juicing, but you're in good company.
Cheers, mate.

My health is VERY good according to the doctor and tests I have done.
Last summer after a cycle I had full bloodwork done and it was good.
Did the full preventative cardiac workup. Passed all with flying colors.
Only thing he wanted me to do was to take a baby asprin a day and niacin.
I would do some blood work before you start. Get your baseline.
Then run some gear.
Start with the standard basic cycles.
If you are married then tell your wife you are doing it. She will figure it out quickly since you are trying to get in her pants 4 times a day anyway.

I saw a photo of a dr. who is in his 70's who is using an hgh/test cycle and says he has off and on since he was in his late 50's and by Gawd you wouldn't believe how he looked. Unbelievable.

Thanks for all the insight guys, rest assured I'll be picking your brains down the road! As I mentioned in my initial post I think I've done all I can do naturally, I think my dream of 315 on the bench might be a reality! (Been stuck on 295 for 8 months) Thanks Again-much obliged......

I was wondering the same thing as I was joining this board about 15min. ago.
So it made me feel good to read all these positive responses.
I did my first cycle at 39. I am 41 now and have done 5 cycles.I feel better than I ever have. I just finished my first attempt at homebrew,(Tren A and Prop). It came out great, so now I'm afraid I'm starting a "continuous cycle". Because I didn't think anything could make feel this good. Tren is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Welcome aboard. I did my first cycle at 39 and am into my 2nd now. I think that 40, give or take 5 yrs, is about the perfect time to start for non-competitive bb's. At the very least, I'll be on HRT/TRT for good. The other stuff? May have to hide that from the wife...

Thanks to everybody who offered me their advise & thoughts on my question, now for the big one-can anybody recommend a 1st cycle for me? My stat line:
40 Years Old
5'9 183 lbs roughly 10-12% Body Fat
I've been busting my ass in the gym for about 21 years & have gained 50 lbs of muscle thru good dieting & just plain hardwork! I feel like I've maxed my natural potential.
My goal is to add another 10-15 LBS of muscle & break my 295 Bench that I've been stuck on for awhile, on my max days (every 4-6 weeks) I sometimes hit & sometimes dont.
Someone in this thread had mentioned a light cycle of anavar & test-any thoughts?
I still havent determined where Im getting gear (Im not asking anybody for anything!) Based on a tip in this thread I may try the Oasis route as my age could help me in that respect. I may also roll the dice on an overseas .com-I dont intend to even start a cycle for another 6 months or so, Im here to learn a lot before I jump in.
I've done a lot of reading on various types of gear all my life & have gained a ton of muscle & power naturally-I just havent changed much in the last 18 months or so despite working hard & dieting my ass off. Thanks for any thoughts anybody might have-Peace

You can never go wrong with
a test only for a 1st cycle...IMO

dont trust the .coms fella, hang around here for a while n do ya research n get involved - then when you think u have found a place check it out with a mod or a vet, they can be very helpfull people!!
also, make sure u research ya pct and get that nailed first, if ya still producing some good ol' natty test ya wanna keep that coming...
as for what to take, listen to ss1476, a test only first cycle is the way forward so you know you ok with adding hormones to ya system.
maybe test enth so you only have to inject twice a week.
hope this helps!

the strongest guy at my gym is 53 he hit 675 squat, 610 dead, and a 455 bench at his last meet. out totaling the second place masters contestant by almost 200lbs. So trust me you can absolutely SHATTER your plateau with aas. You have just got to be careful like we all do.
You only live once but you don't won't that once to be with a stroke or heart attack or liver failure.
Good luck mate

Thanks for all the input, I appreciate you guys sharing your experience. I ordered the book on gear advertised on this site to further my "education" I wanted to be clear on the source check as I have found what appear to be legitimate suppliers-is it 45 days & 100 posts or 45 days or 100 posts? Sorry for the stupid questions, I've been lifting so many years & the prospect of smashing my plateaus has me downright giddy! Thanks again Guys-Peace
