Risks of Driving across TIJUANA border...

me and a couple buddies were planning on driving to Tijuana to pick up some Grade A gear...just wondering if anyone has ever done this?? we would be driving across the border...and would hide about 30+ bottles somewhere in a truck. Sound like a good idea?

I would have to agree.. Not a smart idea.. but definitely not impossible...
If you do get stopped in Mexico.. Just have a few hundreds on hand to bribe the federalies...
If you get stopped by the Americans coming over..
    your screwed..
but like i said, i have never been stopped at the border... but it is all how you present your self.. don't look guilty!

I use to live in San Diego and use to cross the TJ boarder all the time... several dozen times
I have only been searched once and it was in Mexico by Federalies... at a toll booth.. let me just say I was shi**in bricks but they didn't find anything... (
I have brought things over by hiding them and have never been stopped at the boarder driving through...
But there is ALWAYS a chance....

If your car is stopped for a search, do they use drug dogs to sniff out the vehicle?

    Yes They will have dogs..
But i am not sure if dogs would sniff out Gear..

They also could dismantle your car piece by piece if they suspect it enough...

I have been doing mexico for 13 years now and never once have I thought of driving. They will tear your car apart and find stuff you never thought you had. There is a so much better way of getting what you want than driving. Just remember never, never bring back your gear in the origional containers and go to a vaction resort town.

Would it be better to walk across the border rather than drive across?

Yes, walking is the best way to go. In 13 years I have never been checked and I weigh 305 in the off-season. They have made comments but never searched. A friend of mine who works for customs said the amount you can have on you body isn’t enough for them to take the time to bust you then paperwork then prosecute. They want the big stash hidden in your car. I buy 2 cycles at a time and make 2 trips so that I don’t have too much on my person. Let me know and ill tell you the easiest way to do this.

I walked across once with no problems. I was questioned if I had bought any gear by the border guards because they said I looked like I worked out. Just stay calm, good luck.

How intense was the search? What was their reason for searching the vehicle?

#1 Dogs CANNOT detect anabolic steroids .

#2 I was stopped and inspected by numerous customs agents while crossing back to America on a Saturday night (yes heavy traffic) in my car last November.

I was carrying nothing but yes US is serious about it and if I had something, unless secreted in some brillant place, my guess is they would have found it.

BTW they only searched car not my person.
