    Is it an Abcess??

Ok I had my old lady do my left glute injection like I normally have her do "of course I do change injection sites every time". About 2 hours later after I got home from the gym and took a shower I felt that my glute hurt where she did the injection, it kinda felt like the aftermath of a bee sting. I looked in the mirror and noticed it looked a bit red like a rash or something. Its been red and sore all day and it feels like I have a small lump under the skin. I had her massage it for a while and it feels a little better but its still hard and red where she stuck me at. Is it too quick for an abcess to really be noticeable, like wouldnt it take a day or 2 before you would notice infection? Could it just be that she didnt get deep enough in the muscle so that its now between my muscle and skin thus making the skin above red and irritated? I dont want to jump the gun but I dont want it to become a bigger problem either. It feels like a really big spider bite or something similar. Any suggestions?

Thats what I figured, I just wanted some feedback so if it was a problem I could nip it in the but. No pun intended. I assumed that there was no way an infection could set in that quick, I just have been doing inj for 7 weeks now and have not had this type of reaction. Its better to be safe than sorry I guess. Especially when you are dealing with your health.

I am not sure what your prob is, but yes you can get an abcess, real quick, I had one in like 14 hours, I posted about, if it is sore, red and warm tomorrow you better get to the doc. I got treated right away, and it still got huge and sore as F**K, I got a shot and meds right away and it took over a week to heal.

    Good Luck

Well now I have 2 conflicting points of view. Its not warm yet but it is swollen and red and hurts. But the pain is tollerable, it only hurts if I push on it or sit on it wrong.

give it a few days if it gets hot go to the doc. i had it twice on the glute, both times turned into an abcess.the first time i didnt take care of it after it got hot for like two weeks and it felt like i had a piece of wood inside my glute.took a long time to heal with meds.if it dont get hot i wouldnt worry too much.

The shot might have been alittle low if you
can sit on the injection site..just a thought.
When I shoot glutes,it's the top outer 1/4.

I would watch it for the next day and go
    from there.I agree,probably just a reaction.

Not to say that an abcess isn't possible...
I just dont think its the case here.Good luck

Not an abbcess. It sounds normal in a large numer of injection situations. If you get a abcess, you WILL know it!

I would stick it out and see if it feels better unless you feel feverish

I have had sites get a bit swollen, pink, hard and warm for up to a week before finally subsiding.
