I've had this a few times, always been caused by poorly made gear. I stick to single amps and NEVER get this any more. I wanted some Deca to add to my present cycle, and shit I get a lump everytime I shoot. Poorly made gear and too much Alcohol.

Yah, Im getting a 3-4 day pain from each injection as well. Tissue hardens up, some sweeling, but no infection. Hopefully next week when I have done a full rotation on sites the 2nd shot into each site wont be soo bad.

In re-playing the shot over and over in my head, I know what happened. I was multitasking (not paying attention). I'm sure some tap water got on the pin as I was warming the gear up. I remembered seeing it, and was going to change the pin. Needless to say, I forgot and basically stuck myself with a no longer sterile pin. All it takes is to be careless once.

I've been using the same vial for several shots, so I know I have a clean supply. I just got sloppy and am paying for it. I am pretty sure now that I have a slight infection. I am taking 500mg amoxicillins to counter. I will continue this for a couple of days. So far, there is just swelling and it is warm to the touch. There is no visible redness. It does hurt, but not as bad as yesterday. My flu-like symptoms are going away.

If it does not clear in a few days of taking antibiotics, I'll go to the doctor. I read in an educational thread about three years ago to always have some A/B's on hand along with your anti-E's just in case something like this happens. I am glad that I did. It might have just saved my @$$... Literally.
get some bactrim. keep it on hand for this very situation. on another board, i warned people of possible contamination from tap water.
keep taking the antibiotics. remember, all it takes is one organism to survive, and it can replicate exponentially in just a few hours...

Do you have Keflex (cephalexin) in the U.S? If so, get some and drop the Amoxil. If that isn't strong enough then get the strongest oral Antibiotic, Dicloxacillin-Sod. These are more apropriate for abcesses. the ones you guys have mentioned are mainly used for respitory infections. By the way, you should get it drained if it's an abcess if you want to avoid septacemia.

OK, it's a confirmed cellulitis infection. The little voice in my head made me go see the Dr and get a script for Keflex. It just started to turn pinkish-red this morning. That is what set off the alarm. The good news is that it looks like it was caught early enough to where it has not abscessed.

I have been doing a ton of research on this the last couple days since I was (am) pretty freaked out about it.

Basically, this is a LOT more common in the dark side than I ever would have thought. Lesson learned. Amoxicil is almost worthless for this type of bug. You need to keep a stash of Keflex, Penicillin, or Cipro on hand in case you botch a batch, or get sloppy on a stick like I did. Odds are, that if you are sticking yourself, sooner or later, you will make a mistake. Have some antibiotics on hand right along side of your anti-e's for this. The amoxil slowed the progress a bit, but did not stop it. You need to have the Keflex or something that will work on THIS type of bug.

Be careful people. You only have to screw up once.

I'd run the Amoxicillin for 7-10 days and thats it. Anti-boitics are usually run for this peroid.

I was given Lymecyline for a skin infection I got from injecting. Most of the Cycline familly work for this type of thing. My GP has also stated Flucloxacillin works well too.

cellulitis is a bitch. did your doc tell you that your chances of having a sterile abscess increases in that area now? i may never get to shoot in my right shoulder again. he advised against it. seems i also have some scar tissue from all the delt shots over the years...
