    Question about sterilizing gear

I am just curious if any of you vets on here recommend sterilizing your gear after youve bought it to ensure its sterile, and if you do recommend it how would you sterilize it. ***My gear consists of 3 10ml multidose vials. 2 are test cyp and 1 is deca

Not if it's from a good company. If you get it and it looks shitty then yes i would refilter it into a new steril and add 1%ba and let sit for a week.

It looks fine, it's from a ugl that my friend used in his last cycle, he didnt have any problems. I am just trying to be cautious because it is my first cycle. I remember reading a thread where someone mentioned that they always bring water to a boil, remove the pot from the stove, and set their vials in the water to ensure sterility so I just wanted to see if there was any good reason in doing that.

No, that would have no effect on sterility. Filtering and BA are how you clean up gear. Heat sterilization is a complex and difficult science, and can not be done with a pot of hot water!

boiling water does not bring the gear to a high enough temperature to kill thermophilic pathogens and/or heat-resistant endospores (i wont go into these too much, as i noticed that when people mention sterilizing, they dont cite specific reasons). these organisms thrive at high temperatures, and boiling water just does not get hot enough.
the filtering and ba allows a cost-effective means of sterilizing your gear. there are other more thorough methods, but without access to a lab, this is your best route...
