I use nite time cold medicine. Costco, Wally world. I buy it in bulk. It works better than most prescription stuff for me. I keep hearing how bad it is but it is much nicer than 4 hours of sleep. Good luck!

Tylenol PM usually give me a morning sleepy hangover. I've found that there is really no better than Melatonin...it is cheap and knocks me out in less than an hour. Only problem is that I've seen that it doesn't seem to work that well for everyone. My wife tells me it doesn't help her as much as Tylenol PM...but Melatonin won't leave you feeling sleepy when you wake. Just my opinion.

Ambien knocks me out for about 8 hours solid but it is only available via prescription or some mail order B.S. in which you will be taken for a ride anyway. Thankfully I have a compassionate doctor that isn't afraid to script me controlled substances.

I'll try 5 or 10mg of melatonin first though...if that don't help, ambien it is.

You can get the melatonin OTC and under most circumstances it does help me. So I'd say try that out and see if that helps...if not, you may want to check with your doc and see if there is anything he/she can do for you.

    Good luck,

    -ShrpSkn

    SS is right on.
Ambien is not only effective, but very safe. Stay away from tylenol, bro !!! Notoriously harsh on liver. Especially when on cycle.

Your Dr. should have no problems writing you a script. Just tell him you're having trouble sleeping.

Caution. Use only as needed. Ambien can become psychologically addictive.
So DON'T use it more than 3 times a week. You will develop tolerance over time.
-You will sleep like a baby.

Ambien is the only way to go. You have a nice deep sleep for at least eight hours without that morning sleeping hangover. My wife has script and I use it every once in a while, much better than tylenol pm

I have used melatonin and ZMA. Both seemed to work well for me. The ZMA you must keep outside of any calcium for about 45 mins or so... at least that's what I heard.

Phenergan ( promethazine hydrochloride BP ) and other antihistamines are sometimes prepared and labelled as sleep aids in pharmacies, also found in cold & flu remedies. Can be effective for some people. In Australia you don't need a prescription. Dunno bout the U.S

Tylenol PM kills me in the morning. I like ambien but occasionally I wake up with a headache that last for a few hours.

for those taking tylenol pm. Its just acetaminophen and diphenhydramine (benadryl). Why dont you just take benadryl instead. If your on any AAS your liver will be glad you skipped the tylenol because it is processed by the liver. Thats why there is an alcohol consumption warining with tylenol.

This might be an odd one, but 10g of GNC's L-arginine supplement puts me out HARD. Only problem is I wake up an hour later, but then easily fall back asleep.

L-arginine has other bodybuilding benefits so if it works for you, the synergy is doubly nice.
