OT- Worred, appendicits ? hernia ? VERY WORRIED

About to start a cycle, and few days ago I discovered a very mild pain in my right low abs when i cough and sometimes when i go down the stairs.

I cant feel nor i cant see and lump when i cough. and I play football all day without pain. i even hit a hard earned PR on the deadlift yesterday, 450 pounds pain free.

But if im really looking for it, its there, when i push it theres no pain, when i laugh theres no pain, when i lift and jump no pain.
no weird lump that could suggest hernia, its the same a**omen that ive known for years.

    Any ideas ? VERY WORRIED

I just had hernia surgery 2 days ago, and I had the very same symptoms as you. Is the pain down near your groin, in the inguinal area? If the pain is down there I would have a doc examine you. My family doc, who is an internist, checked me out in a physical and couldnt find it. I went to the surgeon and he found it right away. Make sure whoever is looking for it knows hernias well.

    Thanks man!
so you coulndnt feel any lump in there when you coughed ? i thought that what hernia was all about, a lump. and i cant feel anything, both left and right sides are hard to touch, and when i press them i just feel my abs contracting. same for you ?

and about the surgery, im interested if you could go back to powerlifting or you say goodbye.

Dude, go to a doctor. We can try and help on this site, but I'd go to a professional for stuff like that.

I could not find my hernia, no bump. The family doc missed it too, so it can be tricky. Mine was just starting to form. It is down in your groin area, right?
As far as lifting, you can go back to doing whatever you normally do eventually. I emailed 2 bodybuilding pros and they both said they stayed out of the gym for the first 4 weeks, and after that lifted light for a few weeks and then it was back to norm. Main thing is to not push it and go back in too soon before it heals enough.

sure i will go see a doc but its the weekend and im a paranoid

yea its there somewhere, you know what man ? i just pushed the area again, i can feel a tight muscle there, maybe its the problem ? i remember i got similar pain after i got out of a bed ninja style with the legs kicking and all and was worried. im starting to think its just a tight muscle. ill give it a week to heal if it still hurts its a hernia and ill get the damn surgery, if its the appendix, ill take that shit out of there too. weight reduction good for jumping. lol

Could u push yours and feel muscle tightness ?

Well, mine was kinda up inside my canal, so you had to push up there with your finger. Many hernias can also happen on the ab wall like yours might be though. Kinda hard to compare them. If it is a hernia is probably wont rupture all the way during just a week. YOu can wait like you said and see if it goes away. Many people that have hernias actually walk around for years before getting them fixed, so its no emergency now. If you were to blow a hole through it though, part of your a**ominal lining can become stragulated in the hole and cut off blood supply to it, and that would be an emergency.
Can you describe better where you pain is at? Mine also hurt when I bent over at the waist, hip flexion. Like if you get into the position to do a bent over row.

umm, i just did bent over rows with 225lbs and nothing hurt..

im guessing its not a "pain" its more a feeling of emptiness, like theres nothing in there, like you took out an organ out of me... u get me ?

where is the pain ? well, take 2 inches above the penis, then go right 5 inches, thats where i feel empty.

Ok. Yeah, thats the feeling I had. Felt like it was hallow in there, like it was weak. Thats the area of the inguinal canal, where your testes were when you were a fetus. They descend later on. Some minor pain the following day after I do dead lifts and stuff like that. It woudlnt actually hurt while I was lifting, which is strange. The day before my surgery I was doing bent over rows with 315 and deadlifting with 450 lbs. It was always the next day that it would hurt. I would see a doctor about it if it continues. I know they can run ultrasounds or MRI to pick up on hernias. My surgeon though found it on his own just by feeling for it. A week earlier my family doc told me nothing was there. My guess is that yours might start to hurt as you continue putting stress on it, its just not to that point yet.
