Use caution with Chinese traditional medicine
Not exactly sure where to post this. My fault.
I walked into the pharmacy to get some nasal decongestant spray today and bought what I thought was ok (I cannot read Chinese so well).
Anyway, I use a little extra (4 squirts in each nostrile) and head to the gym. Dear God! I started sweating profusely and pumped iron with an insane energy.
I thought something was a little strange so I asked my friend what the OTC nasal spray contained as its active ingredient. It was ma huang.
I have a new found respect and fear of Chinese traditional medicine now. Thank God I didn't use more.

that because ma huang is Ephedra, and the active chemical in ephedra is ephedrine.

So far so good, they seem to be doing what they’re supposed to.
