    broken wrist dilema

right were do i start, i fractured a bone in my wrist 18 months ago and im having surgery on it in 3 months time as the bone isnt healing (i did have pain in it but never knew it was fractured till a few weeks ago)

my doc told me not to lift heavy weights, but i came of a test dbol cycle 6 or 7 weeks ago and dont really want to loose all my hard work, after the surgery im out for another 3 or 4 months

what would you do? carry on lifting heavy, drop the weights?

    open to suggestions ......

You'll need to stop cause thats what'll be causing it not to set properly. It's a bummer but you'll need to ride it out.

If they are planning on fixing it in three months, what can you mess up? If that is the case, I'd continue to lift. If they are waiting three months to see if it will get any better, then you should do what the Dr. told you.

at this point you have a nonunion that isn't going to heal without surgery. I would be afraid to put high shear or tesile loads on a broken wrist but if you can lift with it you arn't going to change the outcome of weather or not it fuses. Lift away until surgery, follow all your doctors instructions after surgery, make sure he doesn't have to re-due you.

Listen to the doctor, he is an orthopedic surgeon so he knows what he's talking about. You can still work out just not heavy, besides you will lose your gains anyway after the surgery. GL

i can work out heavy and it doesnt hurt, but a CT scan showed that the bone is wearing at the fracture, im havin a piece of bone taken from my hip, put in where the bone is wearing and having a pin put through it! i might just do lighter workouts, iv been training on it for a year and a half, i guess 3 months isnt going to make much of a difference lol :s

ask your doctor if he can use allograft or BMP instead of autograft from your hip. harvest site pain can really suck for a lot of people.

After 18 monthes if it hasn't healed, it won't. The reason it didn't heal when it should have could have been that he was using it, but at this point surgery is his only option.

you are going to have to learn the art of the foreigner, had my right shoulder reconstructed and immobilized. You have no choice but to learn to go left.
