    Blood Pressure ?

    What do the top and bottem numbers mean or stand for? MY top number is high but my bottem number is normal?

    top number is called systolic, which is the blood pressure when the heart is contracting, the bottom number is called diastolic, which is the pressure when the heart is relaxing..a simple google search will tell you all kinds of information

    the bottom number, the diastolic is the important number.

    TEST made my BP go to 163 over 75 -but i controlled it and lowered the numbers by changing my diet reducing salt....
