    ALA burning throat!!

I just took one ALA capsule 400mg and it is making my throat burn and upsetting my stomach. Why is this happening? I ate first I had 2 cups skim milk, 1 banana, 2 cups juice, 8oz. chicken and 1 cup applesauce as my pre workout meal. I took it on a full stomach. I also had my multi-vitamin, vitamins E & C. Any reason for this. THANX.

I'm actually looking into that myself, because it happens to me as well (the throat burning thing). I'll let you know if I find out anything.

Did you buy it bottled or did you get a "baggy full of caps" deal? The regular ALA will cause heart burn very easily. Not getting heart burn is only one of the advantages of using r-ALA, which is all natural. That's why most people don't get the heartburn that they do with the synthetic.

my guess is you have the same shite I have. Powder? It says mix with water and drink quickly, then drink another glass. That shit burns the hell out of my throat! I want to get the caps. That is what is keeping me from taking it.

I got the gel caps, and if I don't drink enough water/juice with it, it will burn in my throat too.

The best way to take ALA....at least this works well for me and many others...is to TAKE ALA FIRST.....then eat something within 5-10 minutes. It seems that this somehow keeps the ALA down and the food on top. Possibly the ALA has the food to soak into.

But if I take ALA after I eat....the heartburn comes.
So try taking the ALA first....then food/water

Thanks for the responses. After about 20 minutes it went away. But when I got back from the gym I ate my food and took the ALA and the same thing is happening. My throat is burning.Fucking annoying as hell.

I bought it bottled from anabolical.com

    Hey Iceburg is this r-ala?

Always take you ALA before your meal if its causing problems. I have been using it for awhile now and have no problems what so ever. Also, drink plenty of water to wash it down.

Hey massripped...no it's original ALA. As mentioned above...take the ALA first....and that should keep away the pain.....

ala is much more (considerably) likely to cause acid reflux (the burning throat issue)... why exactly is not known.
