    Finasteride Important!!!

about 3-4 months ago, i took winny for 4 days and started experience crazy shedding of hair. ive never had any shedding before, and ive taken prop, tren , var, tbol and dbol . 4 days of winny caused havoc.

i subsequently started finasteride at 1mg everyday. i was on it for around 10 weeks or so and towards the end of the finasteride, the shedding had stopped. so i stopped the finasteride. its been 4 days since i stopped the finasteride and the shedding has started again.

do i have to stay on the finasteride forever now? are there any negative effects of being on finasteride forever?

    please advise. thanks.

I have always thought steroids accelerated the hair loss process, and that it is not temporary. You introduced a synthetic drug that increased the cummulative impact on your hair follicles process of being gradually minaturized.

Propecia can help some gain back thickness of the diameter of hair that has become thinner due to the progression of MPB. Stopping it reverses the benefit. That being said, most do not see a benefit from propecia/proscar/finasteride until 6 months, with maximum results in 12-18 months. When stopped, people usually notice a reversal of fortune in 6 months +. Your timeframe off of 4 days since you stopped seems a little too early, and your time frame on finasteride seems to short to realize anywhere near the full benefit.

Here is the timeline to see benefits, which matches my results:

    http://www.propecia.com/finasteride/...ct-results.jsp

Also says, "If you stop taking PROPECIA, you will likely lose any hair you have gained within 12 months of stopping treatment."

i could swear someone told me to use it only for 8 weeks on this site.

i know fiasteride hinders gains whilst on cycle (i dont care, i need my hair) but are there any other negatives from being on for so long?

We dont really know for sure.... What we do know is that people who take it to reduce the size of their prostate, if they happen to get prostate cancer, it is much more deadly according to my pharmacist.

And already previously mentioned, the hair your gain back from propecia (same with rogaine) is lost a few months after you stop taking it. So you have to stay on it forever.

i disagree with this. i think finasteride can be effective at preventing hairloss (only with test) if used solely during cycle and pct - so for example for a period of 16weeks. then once the testosterone is out of your system and production of DHT falls back don to a normal level - you can discontinue the use of the finasteride.

Usage of finasteride for long periods has been reported to cause low sex drive/lack of libido.

I think your mind was playing tricks on you. Finasteride doesn't help hairloss caused by winstrol , or any other steroid that doesn't need interaction with the reductase enzyme to induce MPB.

Finasteride inhibits the enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT, wich is 24x (?) more androgenic than testosterone itself. This is what normaly causes hairloss, but if your hairlos comes from winstrol it's useless. Winstrol is a derivate of DHT, meaning that it doesn't need any interaction with the reductase enzyme to become dangerous to your hair - it already is.

What you are doing by taking finasteride is just lovering the amount of DHT in your body, wich already is low due to the supression of testosterone production,.

elefanten has hit the nail on the head there. finasteride is only effective with test!! thats why i only use test and steroids that dont harm your hair such as tbol, anavar and EQ.

    WOW!!!!

    STOP EVERYONE!!

    ----------------------

Once u start Finasteride, or stop finasteride, it will cause hair shedding 2-3 months after starting, or stopping.

This is natural.. Finasteride interrupts the hair growing cycle, which causes this shedding..

If you want to use finasteride you should stay on it for a long time.
Cycling Finasteride, 8 weeks on, 8 weeks off is ridiculous.

Respectufully disagree. There are long term studies and sex drive issues are almost non-existant if you look at the reported side-effects vs. the placebo groups.

10 year study of procscar which is 5 times the hairloss dose.

Also, if you are prone to male pattern baldness you will just lose hair at an accelerated rate while using many steroids . If you only use while on steroids then you will go back to losing hair at the normal (whatever your genes are programmed for) rate. If you need a dht inhibitor while on, you need one while off if you are trying to maintain what you have.
