Winny injections in the delts - pain!!!!

Man is my shoulder sore! I was using a 22 gauge 1 1/2" needle and ran out when it was time for my next injection of winny. I used a smaller diabetic needle instead. After the injection my delt was extremely sore. More so than when I used the 22 gauge. 36 hours later I have a slightly swollen, warm area that is very painful. No blood came into the needle when I injected. Since the diabetic needle is only 1/2" long; it may not have been long enough to get deep into the muscle tissue to spread throughout. Has anyone ever experienced this type of pain and if so what did you do to ease the pain?

Thanks. No puss or bleeding. Just warm to the touch and hurts like hell. Any advice for pain? What happens if you have an abcess?

the winny is probably stuck between your skin and muscle therfor causing a lump. you need to use 1'' needles for your delts to insure the steroid goes deep enough into the muscle

Thanks for the reply. Generally how long does the pain last? I am a first time user and of course this is all new to me. I just want the pain to go away. I went to train today and could not. My show is this Friday and I am concernced I may not be able to go if this pain persist. Anymore advice on pain managment?
