Steriods or Not.. Help?
I posted yeaterday and want to start again.
Right now I am at 194lbs. I want to get to around 220lbs by the end of Feburary. I need to do it in a way that produces as much lean muscle mass as possible.
ANY SUGGESTIONS??????
I am 46. Train 5-6 times a week, one hour a day. Very limited cardio right now. Want to bulk up as much as possible. Was a Triathlete for years, always lifted weights as well. During Tri season weighed around 175-180. Once I laid off the cardio I put on weight, but now finding it very hard to get over the 193-195 hurdle. My bodyfat according to some here is high at around 18%.
My diet is 85-15. 85% good, 15% so so. I probably consume 150 grams protein a day. Finding it hard to eat more food than I do now.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?????
Thanks to anyone who can help with advice.

only you can decide if you want to use steroids or not. we can tell you what we think but the final decision is obviously up to you.
that said, steroids can add lean muscle but they will not cut you up, only diet and cardio will do that.
if you decide to run a cycle i would advise a 12 week cycle of 500mgs test enth every week along with a clean high protein diet and 3 days of cardio a week

Also if you cant eat more than 150grams of protein dont bother cycling the results are totally diet dependant.

yes I would advise you to correct you diet first, lower the bf%. You will look bigger with less bf and better then decide on a cycle

Any difference between Test Enth and Test Cypionate ?
Also, should I need to take anything with the Test?
Do you mind giving a quick explanation of a clean protein diet?

Test is Test bro.
The only difference is esters.
And for a beginner cycle, Test only is usually best.
A good clean diet would be 400 grams protein, 250-300 grams Carbs, and less than 100 grams of fat. Something between 3500-4000 calories.
This would be a good example.

Seriously, that is a lot of frigin protein. You are talking 60 grams per meal.
Has anyone here had any experience with Zero Impact bars? They are 440 calories per bar. 30 grams protein, 35 grams carb, 20 grams fat.Last edited by zspedad; 11-26-2008 at 03:32 PM.

Not allowed to ask for sources on here read the rules and That is not that much protein I have gone upto 500grams per day before. You want to build muscle mass you have to fuel it peoperly. You will gain nothing at 150grams of protein per day.

Bars are not a good source of protein...
Also bro, we do NOT discuss sources on this board.
Please edit your post and take a look at these if you havent already done so...
Read the Rules

You need more than just protein...you need carbs and fat too......IMO if you can't get 200-300g's protein in...don't waste your money on juice.

Ok then, what about shakes during the day.
Chocolate ISOLYZE (3 scoops) in 16 oz milk, 1 tablespoon peanut butter, 1 banana, 3 egg whites.
Just need some major ideas onthe protein intake.
Also, what is a good recomended bodyfat % to start a test cycle?

IMO 12% is the maximum you should be before beginning a cycle.
And as far as getting protein bro, how about foods?
A shake or two a day is ok, but the majority of your protein should be from consuming food.

Why is it negative to have a higher bodyfat %
Most of my protein does come from food. i am asking about shakes and bars as a way to get the extra I need.

Its not good to have excess BF because it raises the risks of getting estrogen related sides when on cycle.
And why dont you write out your diet, and let myself and others look it over and help you with it.
Im sure i can find ways to improve it.
Write it in this format.
:EXAMPLE:
Meal 1
8eggs
80G's of Oats
Meal 2
6oz of Chicken
7.5 oz of Sweet potato
etc...

Pastuerized egg whites......16 oz has 50g of protein, 0 fat, and 0 carbs.......I drink 48 oz of egg whites ed, for a total of 150g protein and 750cals.....
you can take them anywhere, mix them with anything, or drink them straight...

Food is always better but you can surely help your protein intake out with shakes. I have a very hard time getting all the food I need to grow. If it weren't for whey protein and vitargo PWO I would never get enough. I have 50 grams of whey before my breakfast, a shake mid morning, mid afternoon and a good casein protein shake before bed. Half of my protein comes from whey and Im still growing.
BTW, Im 45 and didn't start to use AAS until I was 42. My off season weight is 250 at 5'9" with visible abs. Currently 235 after competing in October, time to grow!Last edited by Bossman; 11-26-2008 at 05:02 PM.

I appreciate all the advice guys.
I will write a food log starting Friday and post.
I am getting the impression weighing of food is necessary.
What is a decent amount of cardio needed without losing too much size?
