The more water you run through your body, the less you retain. Keep the sodium low too. I bloat like a blueberry guy off Willy Wonka but it can be controlled. And don't drink if you have concerns with bloat.
I drink around 2 gallons a day.
Your urine should always be clear.

There is a limit to how dilute your urine can become. You will excrete excess water, but you have to also excrete at a minimum 50 mOsm of solute with that water. If you are drinking many gallons of water a day you can become salt deficient and have seizures. One or two gallons is all anyone is likely to drink here. Yet if you are losing a lot of salt in your sweat, restricting your salt intake and then drinking 4-5 gallons of water (and some do) you are putting yourself in jeopardy of seizures.

I always try to get in 1 gallon. Sometimes 1.5...... usually no more than that. I've never had problems with bloat while on test.

No joke. Wasn't aware it wasn't good.. It's not hard when you have a gallon jug. Job is strenuous so I tend to stop often for a drink, but when I drink I chug. No reason for me to bs. or make things up.. I'm here to give it advise but learn as well... & I just learned something.

I hope this isn't true. This is actually can be dangerous. Look up hyponatremia. Mostly only long distance runners have to worry about it, but if you're in the habbit of chugging 5-10 gallons a day, you are a prime canidate. Your kidneys can process 15 liters a day of water, which is a shit ton, but 5 liters less than your 5 gallon minimum. Not to mention that it must be hard to eat with your gut busting full of water.
I have a lot of trouble believing you have ever drinken 10 gallons in a day.

The water that comes out of my tap is a clean as spring water, and I live in the city. Spring water is a waste of money and bad for the environment. If you're really concerned about water quality, buy a reverse osmosis machine. It will cost approximately 1/8 the price of sping water.

I dont think its possible to drink 5-10 gallons of water in one day. You would either die of water toxicity or your bladder would explode long before you drank 10 gallons.

little piece of trivia, because of it's lack of impurities and electrolytes, you can get in a wooden bathtub full of water, throw in an electric wire and not be electrocuted as long as you don't touch the wire
the reason being that electric charge moves through ions in the water, for instance NaCl(salt) breaks up into Na+ and Cl- ions which conduct the current, but distilled water is vacant of these, so no conduction

i mean a jacuzzi or whatever, you could use a normal bathtub but you would have to bleach it really well, if it had deposits that could lead to a charge being conducted
don't worry, you don't have to try it, i already have, just on a smaller scale
most people played with dolls and action figures as kids, i played "let's make barbie's hair stand on end" and "shoot barbie to the moon"

WOW, can't believe some of the answers here, you need to adjust to your body and you can do that by observing your urine, it should be very light in colour.
Do any of you remember that women who drank a lot of water for a compitition on the radio and died from it???
Judge it by your urine, we don't know your weight, body type or anything esle about you, so it is hard to give exact quota's on what you should drink
