If you're talking a Ventral hernia..I had mine done last year and after 8 days I was back in the gym but at lighter weights...by 3 weeks I was all out!!...but thats just the way I heal. But No juice will speed it up.....(healing process).....

Let yourself heal on your own.....don't take steroids to try and heal quicker...... dumb idea.

Definately don't do strenuous lifting after that surgery..... if you screw up that mesh you're going to be sorry. You'll be out even longer. May as well take the docs advice - recover 100% then hit it hard.

They don't heal properly on their own, and steroids won't do anything for it.

A hernia is a rupture in your peritoneal cavity that will push through the many layers of the abdomen (fascia, muscle, etc)...

I have had two, inguinal and abdominal. They require surgery. They also require you to not lift for up to three months, depending on the severity, and adjacent structures. I am 2.5 weeks post op, and am back in the gym late last week, doing cardio and sauna, and just eating right. I am not going to rip this open after the week I had post -op.... Not worth it.

Some guys can work around them, take it easy, back them off, and even "push them back in" on occasion. Eventually, if you lift heavy as a rule, (and most of us do this to a certain extent around here I guess) they will rupture, and then you are off to the emergency room. I advise you take care of it now, get the mesh, and then get back in the game, rather than being scared at the bottom of every squat and dead you do for the rest of your life.

    just IMHO...
