I think he is probably right, if you take large doses of oral steroids and/or for extended periods of time. There is no reason to believe that liver problems would not develop. Just as an aside, tylenol (acetaminophen) abuse kills 8000 people a year and hospitalizes around 20,000, just for some perspective.
The FDA labels the drug as the Drug Most Often Associated With Liver-Failure Deaths.
