Water retention desireable for some athletes?

When I'm retaining water, I reckon it makes me about 20% stronger. After I finished my last cycle, my strength dropped down quite a bit as soon as I lost the water.

It makes me think though whether athletes would ever deliberately take drugs just to make them retain water? For instance you could inject a small amount of estrogen?

I have never heard anything about scientific answers but i surely feel stronger while i hold water. But i personally like the rounder watery look myself, but i've always been really skinny so maybe thats why?

I've read loads of times that water retention causes an increase in strength.

    I thought that was a well-accepted fact?

For instance I hear that the strength gains that come from Dianabol are mostly attributed to water retention.

I was thinking that an athlete such as a powerlifter would benefit greatly from water retention.

It's funny you should say that. During my last cycle I was holding a massive amount of water and it made me look way bigger. Everyone was commenting on how much bigger I'd gotten, and they even said my face looked pudgier. It made my shoulders look fantastic, my delts stuck out like domes. I quite like it!

Then when my cycle finished the water went away and everyone was commenting about how I'd gotten smaller! It made me paranoid, I thought my muscle was wasting away. Now though I'm pretty sure it was just the water disappearing.

I have to say though, at the end of the day, even though I like looking bigger, I'd rather be ripped. For my next cycle I'm considering taking Aromasin to keep the water retention down. . . or maybe I'll just let myself bloat up and benefit from the strength gains.
