    Permanent damage to sex drive

I've done a couple of cycles of Var and will probably continue to do three of four a year for at least a few years. I've done a lot of reading about the long term effects of steriods as it pertains to the male sex drive. My findings are a bit ambigious. Some articles say steriods can cause the problems, but not all steriods are the same. They say that long term use can effect the pituitary and cause atrophy of the testes. As with most men, my sex drive is very important to me. My question is does anyone know if taking Var cycles (20 mg daily for 7-10 weeks) will cause permanent damage to my libido?

    Stats
    age 37
    5-6 161
    body fat 9%
    yrs training 25yrs

Thank you and happy new year.

anytime you take anabolic steroids you are supressing or shutting down your natural test production. this includes the pituitary and the testes. how well you recover from each cycle depends on your post cycle, your time off between cycles (which four cycles a year is alot imo) number of cycles, age and you as an individual as everyone is different.

provided you cycle correctly the odds of "permanent" damage is low. worst case scenario you end up on trt.

i dont see a significant risk if you are doing things like they should be done.

A bit off topic, but, have you really been training since you were 12? If so, allow me to say, that's ****ing hardcore.

I thought 20mg of var a day was fairly easy on the testosterone production??? Isn't that why woman and children san be prescribed it??? At 20 mg a day can't you do a bridge or a "var only cycle" without suppressing natural test production????

^no doses as low as 2.5mg have been shown to supress natural test production. but it is still a light cycle even at 20mg.

Thank you for all of your responses. Yes Sunhangdo, I have been training since the time I hit puberty. I wanted to get the girls at an early age. I started off lifting the same weights my mom used. lol

I plan on doing three nine week cycles of Var only (20mg). Then I'll use 20mg Nolva for 3 weeks for the pct. Maybe I should just use Hcg , but I already bought the var and nolva. So i'll be 9 on and 9 off. Does that sound like a safe plan? I can't do test because I am prone to losing hair. Can't take that chance. I know 20 mg of var is low but it has worked well and I have noticed a 25-35% decrease in sex drive while on it and about a 50% when I"m off. Granted I have not done a pct yet, so hopefully the loss won't be as drastic.

    Thanks
