Air bubbles

When i inject i always pull back on the plunger and get an air bubble in the syringe and when i let go of the plunger the air bubble disappears (which i understand is good...i hope). My question is where does the air bubble come from? Just want to make sure i'm injecting right...none of my friends say they pull on the plunger to make sure they're not injecting into their blood stream.

Youre aspirating which is correct, when you pull back you create a vacuum, this is perfectly fine and youre not injecting air.

You're definitely wrong. You don't have air in your body. The "air bubble" is just a vacuum, since the syringe can't draw up your muscle tissue to fill the void caused by the plunger being pulled back.

I don't think that it is needed to pull back that strongly.. is it? As far as I know if you are into a vein the plunger will be quite easily able to pull back with no force, just slight pull. I have hit a vein twice I think and the plunger went back quite easy

Agreed, why chance it? I always pull back until I see the Void.

The bubbles of air are existing already in the syringe but they are enlarged in the vacuum created when aspirating. That's my understanding: small and harmless air bubbles that are enlarged by the vac...

You need to inject over 100mL of air to create an air embolism. Don't worry. I always inject 0.5cc of air to create a medical technique known as air lock, which uses the 0.5cc air bubble to block the oil from leaking out.

You mean you put the oil first and then the air?
