That's ok. The 131 seems a little high, but ur in no danger.

Lose some weight (you didn't give your stats).....if carring extra weight isn't the issue....cut the salt/salty foods out of your diet. Regular excercise will help too. Cut down on your caffeine intake. Destress somehow too. 132 is "boarderline" 120/80 is normal. 140/90 is the start of high BP. High BP is no joke and you need to figure out what is causing it and get it in check. That shit will kill you!

Also--I would go get it checked again in a week to see where it is at. You may have gotten it taken on a off day......if it is consistantly of the high side....try doing at least one of the things I mentioned about to see if that helps.

Well if you just had it taken right after your attack....that is likely the issue. I would bet if you went back in a week to get it checked...you would be fine.

I think you should be GTG....but again...go get it checked in a week to see where you are at if you are worried about it. If it is on the high side again they there might be something else to look into. I think you should be fine.

I'm going to mention this, as most don't know, and certainly the NP that take my blood pressure don't seem to know.
The results of your blood pressure as is read by the meter is affected by the position of the arm that is being read. For example, most NP's will place your arm on a table, and then read from there. If you sit up real tall, your BP will read HIGHER than if you slump down low in your chair. When sitting tall, the cuff is below your heart. When slumping down low, the cuff is either at the same level as your heart or higher. I played this "game" with my doc recently, and even he didn't catch on. My point is you have to be very consistant in how you place the cuff, and it's relative plane distance from the heart. I would suggest that the cuff be on the same plane as the heart, and consistantly read from this position.

I can "adjust" my reading by almost 10 points by doing this.
