first cycle, increasing strength as main focus
Hey, im pretty new to this site. but i have been involved in powerlifting for sometime along with keeping a strict regimented diet. I am 5 foot 6 in (done growing, moms 5 ft flat and dads 5 ft 4), i weigh about 175, and i am 18 years old. I need to start taking steroids to try to break a deadlift record. at 17 i tried for 518 which was the american record at 164lbs but wasnt quite there.
I have a few questions for my first cycle, i read on the forums that for inexperienced people they should run testosterone for 12 weeks at 400mg with d-bol to kickstart it for 4 weeks. but when i was looking around this forum i saw that people are having lower testosterone levels later on in life from taking it at my age. SO i was curious if there is something that is better for 18 year olds? and also what is the best steroid for people who are in a strength sport but has lots of impact and 2-3 hours of hard physical activity on top of lifting, like football, or mma?
1 other question, should i take all the pills for side effects before i get them, or do i wait to take HCG and all that stuff when i start to get the side effects? thanks alot guys.
James.

Your barely old enough to be a member here. Stick with diet, training, sleep, and supplements all in that order.

but i know that there are 18 year olds that take them, and if im going to break any sort of record i will need something. I know it might not be really safe but still. This has been my goal since i was 14 and the other powerlifters that i know are taking them. SO is there anyone thats the least dangerous?

you are at 18yrs of age - which is the ABSOLUTE best age to be training and learning your body......
you can gain as much naturally at 18, as any of us old guys using small cycles...
why not try upping your carbs and calorie intake?
and im not talking chips/pop, im talking whole grains, basmati rice, sweet potato, steel cut oats.... give yourself that carb energy you need to train a bit harder!!!
jam in more quality meats!!! feed that body!! grow grow grow!!!
i just dont see why breaking a record once, is worth potentially setting your health back in the long term......
im all for kicking ass, busting records, destroying goals - and LOTS of us on here would love to see you do it....but...... at 18 - you just have so much potential just waiting to explode.
im not saying do it. but....
IF YOU ABSOLUTELY ARE GOING TO ANYWAY - be smart about it.
testosterone is the basis of any cycle.
dbol is an ok kick start.
DO NOT FORGET POST CYCLE THERAPY .
nolvadex and clomid (lots of info on this site for pct, length, doseage).
I'd rather not see ya go that route because of your age, but - i dont think myself or anyone else has the absolute right to tell you to do it or not...if anything, just be safe about it.
as for danger....there's really no way to say what's "dangerous" for YOU or not.....
what works well for me, may not for you.... what doseage works for me, may cause huge side effects for you.
even tylenol isn't a safe drug.....
all you can do, is take your time, read the diet and training sections on here, read about the chemical compounds you are thinking of doing - and make an INFORMED decision.
don't jump on it because other guys are. IF you decide to go that route, make that decision either way based on what you feel is right for YOU......
if i was in your shoes (and i really wish i was...i started at the age of 26 for training..naturally untill recently) - i'd train my ass off naturally.....
at 18, everything you gain - you keep for life. quality long lasting real gains...
best of luck.

you missed my point.
some people will anyway ...or will when told not to (like a fat kid in a candy store who's told not to touch anything).
my point was - IF he was going to ANYWAY, no matter what we say, all anyone can really do is help him be safe.
if you read the rest of my post, i outlined that he's at the absolute best age to be %100 natural - and i am jealous of that and would stay natural at his age if i was in his position....at least he's trying to read, unlike most who come here after being on dbol only or deca only, once they have problems rather than research first.
it could be a LOT worse.

yeah, i havent made a final decision. Ill keep in mind what you guys said, thanks a bunch for the info. But for now im going to hold off i think until maybe 19 and a half rolls around. ill just use it to get the extra few pounds when the time comes, 18-19 is the age limit so ill just see how my deadlift and squats go up.
thanks, i appreciate the info. if i break any records ill be sure to post it and a vid.

cool!!!! do it up.
maybe check out the diet section - maybe your food intake isnt what you think it is, and you could benefit from a more solid plan.
in my honest opinion, even 19-20 is too young......
best of luck!

I dont see people do that very often, give advice to an 18 year old who wants to cycle.. and who will most likely cycle weather he gets help on this site or not. Most of the time all you see is a newbie begin told he's too young and thats the end of it.... I agree 150% with what you told him, giving him safe advice if he decides to continue is much better than letting him dive into a cycle without knowing anything at all.
On topic, just like the others on this site I dont think you should do a cycle this young, BUT if your going to go through with this make sure you run a good PCT, at 18 im sure you have no problem getting hard, but without a PCT you could risk not being able to get your little friend to wake up cause of low Test levels!
So run that PCT so you can put your P in a V

18-19 is too young. You risk permanently damaging your HPTA. You body does not achieve hormone homeostasis until at least 25. You should not touch any steroids until then. Steroids are not a quick fix for people that don't know how to eat or train, no mater what age you are. The damage you risk will have life altering consequences. You're 18, still a virgin? I'm not trying to be a dick, but if you are how would you like to not be able to have an erection without taking drugs? You risk ruining a sex life you know nothing about yet. Even if you're not a virgin trust me you're still a boinking newbie. Sex can be one of the greatest parts of life. I'd really take a long hard look at that before you think about juice.
Also, your natural testosterone is never going to be higher. You will be able to make gains at your age that guys in their 40s and even 30s just can't make naturally. A lot of older guys turn to steroids to keep what they had in their youth, to offset aging if you will. You don't need that.
I kid you not I would literally kill people to know at 18 what I know now about diet and lifting. Learn and apply, learn and apply. You can do so much just with proper diet and supplements. Truthfully if you don't know enough about that how do you ever think you are going to take steroids responsibly? Teenagers are impulse driven anyway, and looking for a quick fix like this is a prime road to addiction.
The everybody's doing it line doesn't cut it either. Remember the deal with the cliff? So what, let them screw up their bodies and die at 40. Setting a record is great, but is it worth your life? Let us educate you, and give us a good year. I promise that by the end of that year if you've followed our advice you will just want to keep doing what you've been doing and probably won't give steroids another though for a long, long time.

Stay natty-you're too young and unfocused.

Get a summer job working with a mason or concrete company if you can. I think one of reasons I've always been strong is that I've been working construction since I was 12. When I'd do that all day and then go lift I wasn't as strong, but after the summer was over and I was back to school my strength went way up. And all that was without knowing squat about a proper muscle building diet or even having a proper training regimen. You master those two and you are light years ahead of 99.9% of guys your age.

I have been powerlifting for many years, and I competed since I was 17. There is so much to learn about increasing your strength/lifts with different training methods. Very strong lift, though. Remember, doing great once never gets you remembered.
