    best gear for increasing performance/crossfitting?

assuming someone was already a fairly experienced lifter/athlete and had a fair amount of experience with steroids under their belt, what would be the best gear to increase all around performance for something like crossfit or a similar type workout?

Thats a pretty broad question. Depends on Age, fitness, goals, etc.
    Lets start with your stats:
    Age
    Weight
    Body Fat Est
    Diet
Years Training and Type of training
    Goals

nah not competing in anything just for personal use, goals are just to get really good times on many of the cf workouts and just for overall fitness. i want to be competent at long distance running, powerlifting and everything in between.

30-something, 180ish, no idea on bf% but pretty lean, eat very clean (loosely follow the zone diet but have no problem eating more carbs when i feel i need em), been training in various lifting styles for almost 20 years. have lots of experience on all the basic lifts, did bb for long time, then lots of high-cardio-type bw circuits and now mix it all up.

fav cycle has always been prop and var. it's simple and relatively safe but just wondering if there's anything i can add to increase performance. thanks guys.
