    Thinking of first cycle - what else do I need to know?

    Hey forum. Thanks in advance for reading.

    Thinking of taking a beginner cycle of oral dbol 5mg tabs. Been considering the plan and dosages here:

    edit, marcusI\'ve been lifting for three years almost, finally been taking it seriously the past year. 29 years old this year, 6\' tall, started off way back at 155lbs and made it up to 185lbs now.

    My questions are, what\'s good to take to prevent liver damage with these orals? I hear milk thistle\'s something to consider and I\'d prefer something high street/over the counter for ease of availability. Any recommendations and doses?

    What should I consider for PCT following the above course?

    How will cardio (usually run 3 miles/day) affect the cycle as a whole and should I change this?

    Many thanks for any help or advice.

    your not ready, do some more research. thats a terrible 'cycle' first you shouldnt run dbol for more than about 5 weeks, some guys rrun longer but not recomended. you also need to be on some test. for a first cycle i would just do a simple 250mg/wk test e cycle for 10 weeks.

    Thanks Nuzzi. Any good resources for info on running this test cycle? Failing that any suggestions on dividing up the 250mg/week and any recommended PCT?

    go 500mg, 250mg/week wont really give u much benefit. 250mg twice a week is btr. u could use dbol for a kicker for first 4/5 weeks at 30-50mg ED. dbol only cycle is terrible though, and for 10 weeks u would need a liver transplant afterwards!

    Thanks very much Gucks - beginning to be extremely glad this forum is around!

    Might be finally arriving at the beginner cycle for me. Last question is the PCT really - what will I need following this cycle would you think, if anything? Also, any potential sides I need be aware of on the test? Any way to combat those?

    While a test only cycle is a great beginner cycle - I don't feel you're ready to take that step yet. Before you purchase any gear.... stay on this forum and read. There's plenty of threads on PCT's, Side effects, and beginner cycles. Use the search function until you've just about worn it out.

    Once you have a better understanding of what you will be doing to your body and how it can change..... THEN make the comittment. It really isn't something to be taken lightly.....

    Certainly will Hazard, thanks for the advice. Still a fair way from actually buying anything. Will get a suggested cycle together and then look into the pros and cons of it. I have a lot of reading to do on the subject, but I\'m definitely grateful for all the pointers so far and I daresay I\'ll need even more before actually getting started.

    It's a long road..... sometimes it can be discouraging. I was on this site for 2 years before I had any handle of what I was doing LOL and it took a couple more to actually KNOW what I was doing.....

    You hafta have a decent base of knowledge to get started - you don't want to hurt yourself. The rest you can learn as you go along. Just keep researching - you may just get sucked into all the articles written here just like I did lol.

    Awesome post, and to the O.P.- I always suggest ALA and NAC while using orals but you'll realize that when you are doing your research, best of luck to you!

    definitely look into getting real pct chems, nothing over the counter. Look for real clomid and nolva, tons of dosing info in the pct section. Check it out. And get the pct chems before your cycle begins.

    Get to 210 lbs before you cycle [@12-14% Bodyfat]. If you can't naturally brake 200 lbs @ 6 ft tall your diet is the problem. If you cannot gain naturally you will not keep a single pound you gain from a cycle and be worse off from when you started. Diet is the foundation to all bodybuilding. Inadequate dieting means poor training which means no gains which will leave you plateau'd in a short period of time and discouraged/depressed.

    I agree with Hazard, not ready to cycle.

    Realistically, if you take the time to not only read but also try to learn the information in the Educational Threads, stickies, and tie up lose ends with the search function, there shouldn't be any other questions. Any single question you could possibly conceive has already been asked 1000's of times. The PCT section tells you how to run a PCT, this section shows you a beginner test cycle, there's a gyno thread, a bloodwork thread, and a few threads on dieting.
