Just say a 19 year old took steroids

And he messed up his endocrine system etc etc..does that mean TRT for life?

I was talking to a friend that is currently 3rd week into cycle with PROP as first cycle tried to talk him out of it etc, he knows what hes doing so i left it at that.

then i asked him what if you have to go on TRT for life.

he gave me the reply 'i would love to be on test for the REST of my life, feeling young at 50'

so far hes experienced no sides, made gains already, injections don't even hurt that much according to him...

and no this ISNT me..IM 18, and i don't plan on using til 20 - 21 (rock solid about this).

What else can he expect to do? beside ruin his endocrine system + growth plates

Here is an article about this subject written by Marcus300 that might help to clear up a few points to answer your question.

    The young and Steroids

Due to the recent number of PM's ive been receiving regarding age and steroids I thought i'd write this thread to try and help some of our younger members. Ive also been having a conversation with my Endocrinologist who may give a more profession opinion on the subject:

There isn't an exact age were we all stop developing and growing because this is determined by our genes and DNA, we are all genetically programmed individually and we inherit our genes from our parents. To give an exact age we stop growing would be incorrect because everyone's genetic blueprint is different. The main development of our bodies is up to the age of 21yrs of age but this can vary between individuals. There are parts of our bodies what carry on developing and adjusting slowly up until the age of 25yrs old, an example of this is the brain. The Endocrine system is a part of the brain what is very complex and keeps our bodies in a homeostasis state. Our testosterone levels start raising and roughly peak around 25yrs old and then start to slowly decline, so even though some of us may have stopped growing at the age of 21yrs old, others may still be developing up until the age of 25yrs old.

I have recently spoken to my Endo regarding this matter and he tells me that the HPTA is very sensitive and as many pathways how it regulates the human body, he states steroids disrupt the normal balance of hormones in the body which can cause reversible and irreversible changes at any age but risks are far more if you administrate exogenous androgens during development, this will put you in a very unnatural environment at a crucial time and your hormones should be treated with care especially in the early stages of maturity. The adverse effects can be erratic behaviour of the HPTA and potentially therapy when your older.

I did ask him what age he would think would be the safest as far as risk to damages and he said many endocrinologist suggest full maturation is reached by 25 years of age and this would also give the HPTA time to be established with your natural hormone balance and patterns. I personally feel 24-25yrs old would also be ideal starting point to get bloodwrok drawn to see exact what your natural levels are before starting any kind of cycles and waiting till you have reach your testosterone peak would be a good starting point, for me there is to much evidence over the forums and what I've seen personally over the last 25yrs I've been bodybuilding . Obviously it isn't going to be all 19- 21yr old bodybuilders who suffer side effects what are irreversible but I am edging on the side of caution what age I advice to the newbies.

Zyzz started when he was 19 and look at him now. Well except for that dieing thing. You need to know what you are doing and have your body checked out making sure it can handle it. If you have a congenital heart defect and don't know it and start taking steroids , you can expect possible premature death in the near future. so you definitely need a good overall health checkup including blood work done before starting any steroid cycles, as well as having your diet in order and bodyfat below 15% not to mention a good workout routine as well. And like everyone says you should be at least 23-24 before starting any cycles, but some do anyways and get away with it, others are now on lifetime TRT and having to take viagra before any sexual activities. That alone should make you want to do as much research as possible before starting anything as major as steroids. Yeah some guys just say the heck with it and jump on in and like I say some do fine but others don't. It's like playing Russian roulette with your health. Just sayin know what you can lose by starting early. But I understand the temptation to want to do it now. When you are the skinny one and everyone else around you is all buffed up and you can't seem to get anywhere and see and hear all this about roids, it makes you want to go out and get some and just hurry to get all jacked up. It isn't all that simple either. One, you run the risk of getting caught with those roids, or getting your order seized in the mail, losing your money. and two you cant just take shots and and eat big macs and grow huge. It doesn't work that way at all, unfortunately. Man We all wish it did though. You have to dedicate yourself seriously to major workouts 4-5 times a week, constantly tweaking your workouts and diet. It's going to take a lot of money for all your gear and food requirements so be prepared for that. Contrary to what the public may think about steroid users, we work our butts off both on and off cycle to look great and keep it once we get there. It's a job in itself and if you are not prepared to be 100% dedicated in it then you might as well not start down the steroid path. IMO

We're all different. Some can start earlier and definitely get away with it. Others not so lucky.. Rather be safe than sorry and wait until you're 25+ and have at least 3-5 years of solid lifting as a base.

As for zyzz he died of an congenital heart condition which was not due to using gear.. They only helped speed up the process.. Even without them he would've died fairly young.
