    Steroids at Age 20?

    I know most of you think 25 is the best age to start cycling but hear me out ;

I'm 19 right now(turning 20 in a month). I'm 6-2(tallest in my family) and weigh 205 at around 10-11% bf. I didn't see any height gains in over a year. I've been lifting for 6 years(last 3 years being very serious) and I feel like my diet is in check. I have no problem keeping up with my diet. I don't even have cheat days. I don't drink or smoke. I lift 5 days a week and the last time I missed a workout was more than 2 years ago. I'm very dedicated.

Normally I wouldn't consider using steroids for couple years but now I feel like I have to start cycling. I play DII football and most of my teammates are going to cycle when our season ends. Some of them have already used steroids in high school. I feel like if I don't start cycling with them, they are going to get ahead of me. But at the same time I don't want to do anything that would mess up my body.

They are planning on running test e since for most of them it's gonna be their first cycle. What do you guys think I should do? Should I cycle too or should I wait for another year or so? Is there something that is safer to use at my age?

I would wait a year at least. See the problem is that 98% of those guys will never go on to play pro ball so what they are doing is taking a chance of messing up their bodies to try to keep up with their classmates. Unless you put food on your families plate by your involvement in Sports I see no reason to take the chance of lifelong damage to your HPTA system by using steroids .

Also I really don't know shit about college sports but haven't you already received your schoolarship at this point? If so there is no need to use steroids to facilitate your future, indeed can't steroid usage jepordize the schoolarship?

I have a close friend whose son was playing division one football about 5 years ago and switched schools (went to Hofstra) and sports because the demands to engage in juice and all sorts of other shitty behaviour ( partying, slut abuse, game fixing, etc) were so bad they he just felt it was not worth it to him. He is now happily married with a good job and kids on the way, while a lot of his old teamates have suffered major setbacks due to the environment they were part of.

    Welcome to the board mate
Good question. To remain competitive, you feel the need to take steroids , even though you run the risk of down the road health issues.
My son came to me with a similar question, so I had to sit him down and we talked about it for 20 minutes or so. Here's the root of the problem.... your hormonal system is still developing. Really doesn't matter how tall you are, how much you weigh, or how long you've been working out. your hormonal system still needs to fully develop for the next few years or so without outside interference from steroids. But I think you sorta understand this already, at least to a certain extent, else you wouldn't have mentioned the "25 years" portion.
My advice would be to wait, as it always is for people your age. But only you can really decide. Is the benefit you will receive now worth the risk of potential health issues later? This is a difficult decision to make for youngsters your age, since most kids feel "immortal" and "nothing is going to happen to me". Truth is, it could.

I suspect you already know about creatine, protein powder, BCAA's and arginine? This is the direction I'd have you go.

And of course, you said your diet is in check, but there's really no way of knowing for sure unless you post your diet in the nutrition section, here: http://forums.steroid.com/forumdispl...RESOURCE-FORUM

Post your diet, let us look, and we'll let you know if we see opportunities for improvement.

    Good luck!

I think u should up ur intake & hit the gym 2wice as hard, & after they finish there cycles & lose most if not all of their gains & cant get a hard on in the Playboy mansion, & u keep ur gains & hav no medical "issues" 2 deal with, u can walk tall & proud while they head 2 the doc 4 TRT / HRT.

As far as hitting the plateu, growth (hieght) happens in spurts and you may already be at your max hieght. If not using steroids will only serve to close bone ends and lessen the chance of further hieght. As far as plateau's in mass and strength, days off and cheat meals may be just what you are missing. A steady unchanging diet and workout will almost always cause a lack of growth at some point and a change in workouts, diet, sleep etc will be what is needed to make a positive change. Seek the experience of a good personal trainer to look at what you are doing and suggest changes to get you past this stagnation.

I would recommend waiting also. Just because you are done growing physically doesnt mean your endocrine system is fully done developing. And that is the more important then height.

also just because you think your diet is in check doesnt mean it is. Why dont you post that and let us take a look

I'm trying to get to pro level. I would've been playing DI but I got injured during my senior year and ended up not playing for most of the season.

I give you credit bro... You look great for 19. But I agree with everyone else... just because you have stopped growing and are the tallest one in your family doesn't mean your body is fully developed....

No one on here will agree with you running a cycle at 20.... How ever there are people who have. And they can tell you how it has affected them cycling at such a young age....

I was 23 when I started cycling. And let me tell you... I was in your shoes at 19-20. And held out till 23... hold out as long as you can mate. I know your going to do what you want to do... but understand this stuff and how it works completely before making any decisions.
