    HCG as PCT

What the hell is the go with using HCG in PCT? I am under advice from someone who runs an anti aging clinic to use HCG as part of PCT to stimulate testes again. But everywhere I read on here says it's to be used during, not after cycle.

Did they use HCG in the old days as PCT? It seems veterans still do it this way?

You should post stuff like this in the PCT section?

HCG is often used in PCT prior to admin. SERMS.
Ie, stimulating the leydigs after a cycle, so they become more responsive to LH when your Pituitary start producing again.

HCG acts like LH hormone so it shuts down your own production of LH.You need a serm to stimulate your bodys own production of LH for your PCT to work and get your own test production back to normal.HCG is good for getting your balls functioning again to help with PCT but you need to get your LH production started again for it to be be sucessful. It should be stopped when you start the serms like Clomid and Nolvadex .

Apologies, upon reflection I should have posted this in PCT section.

I just keep coming across a few old school body builders who used and still recommend HCG only as PCT without the use of SERMS. I completely understand the philosophy, but why was this all the rage in the old days given all the facts?

Because back in the 70's and 80's there was no such thing as PCT,we used HCG to stimulate our own test production,we knew nothing of using Clomid or Nolvadex for PCT because we didnt understand fully how it works. It was for the lack of knowledge that we used HCG only....We used Nolvadex for estrogen control so we wouldnt get gyno, that much we knew. I have done over 30 cycles without any form of PCT,not even HCG.....

I know several today who do not PCT. The knowledge is in the forums more than the gym´s is my observation.
How was your recovery without PCT?

I never had a problem recovering but i never did really long cycles because steroids are not very effective after a peroid of time for making more gains,i have found that after 8 to 10 weeks i dont make any more progress and only maintained what i gained for the first 8 to 10 weeks.I dont know if its because your training has leveled of or other reasons but thats been the case with me.I didnt know about PCT untill i started viewing the forums, now i fully understand how it works and have done PCT after my last 2 cycles. While you may recover not doing PCT,it will take longer and you will lose some of your gains when you go through the low test period of your recovery. After my last cycle i did pct with Nolvadex and clomid on some pretty low doses of each and a month after PCT i had blood work done and my test was 502.no HCG was done during PCT or during my cycle.

Read Swifto's posts in the PCT section. More good info than can be absorbed in several readings.

Most of my cycles were done in the 80's there wasnt much info back then like there is now.It was not only me but many people didnt do PCT.A lot of people even went to doctors to get prescriptions because back then steroids werent illegal to prescribe and even the doctors didnt know about PCT.I dont ever remember guys having problems with recovery in the gym i trained at,and we had a lot of guys doing steroids, even cops were using them.I would even venture to say the pros like arnold and those guys didnt do PCT either. Info was limited about steroids back then because there werent any forums like now where they are freely discussed.Back then guys didnt stay on steroids for long period of time like guys do now that have problems recovering.I kepy my cycles to 8 to 10 weeks, but was probably a little longer because that was counting the last shot as the end of the cycle when really there was still some left in my system. We had nolvadex then but i dont rember ever hearing about Clomid or any of the AI's either.Things are really much better now with all the info available now, just have to know whats good and whats not because there is a lot of both....I kept a log of all the cycles i did except for a few which were small low dose cycles to get back into shape quickly. Also we had a pharmacist that was a bodybuilder and competor that gave us a lot info about steroids that he even used himself. He owned a pharmacy and a gym in georgia where he lived.

Thanks, this was the discussion I was after. It's helped to understand a bit more.

How about this question, if by experience, as Mr10x explains, recovery has never had a problem recovering without PCT, is it better to go without if you can get away with it, or do it anyway? I mean, if you can recover ok without it, why unnecessarily put more drugs in your system?

Now please understand I am not trying to be a smart arse here! This is a legitimate question I am asking for discussion about.
