Some help with cycling (as in bicycling)

I'm interested in riding my bike a lot more this summer.

I already eat 5000-7000 calories/day, take glutamine/protein, rest, ice, compression, etc. but I'd like to accelerate my recovery. I've never done any anabolic steroids , is testosterone the right direction to start?

I started doing a lot of road biking about a year (CAAD 10). Well a lot for me. I wasn't recovering as fast as I would have liked either. I started doing short burst uphill sprints on the bike and it wiped me out! I would do a long ride on the weekend and sprint 2-3 times during the week. I no longer do the sprints, I do a 15 mile ride with decent elevation during the week and a 25-30 mile loop on the weekend. Recovery is not a problem any longer. On the other hand 30 miles is nothing for a serious rider and I would probably never recover from a century... Or, build yourself a simple altitude chamber to sleep in and get those EPO levels up!

My wife and I cycle alot during the nice part of the year. We find it is best to condition your body slowly with short rides like 5, 10, 15. Then we build up to doing 50 or 60 in no time. Within a month or so we are able to do back to back to back days of 60-80 miles a day. Honestly proper form and fit will help eleviate alot of the pain before it starts. Then pre-treat with some Motron. Happy Biking!

    Angry

I should have provided more details. I'm already riding 250-350 miles per week. I've been riding most of my life.

(edit: how do I get rid of the angry icon on my post?)

Just stop being so angry and it will go away...haha
Shoot man doing that many miles week in week out I would say you have the recovery part under control! Until you get a few years older your best bet is to HTFU! J/K... Biker talk.

PS. I was ready to tell the wife that today is a rest day and we are taking off. But now I feel like a big wuss and will go hit 12 miles of elevation!!!! Thanks!

Hah, well this is my base period so I'm doing a lot of long slow rides.

For posts on these forums there's a generally negative attitude towards people starting to use anabolics. I realize most of the people who come on here are people about my age who have little experience training and are impatient to get big, but it comes across as this community being a pretentious club of exclusivity.

Maybe I'm just annoyed to come back from an 78 mile ride to people telling me to lube my chain. I've read the stickies, the articles, etc. and I'm familiar with the dangers of using steroids and why they're not recommended for people my age. To me, anabolics are another powerful tool that I'd like to learn how to use properly to incorporate into my training.

I don't mean to attack this community (I think you guys are doing the right thing by discouraging young people from screwing up their bodies.)

Let me rephrase my question again. If I were to use anabolics with my bike training, what sort of stack/cycle should I go with?

Hey man I get very excited for someone who is ready to run their first cycle. Ready meaning diet is good, BF is low, long exercise history, and old enough. Three out of four you seem to have covered. I could see how this forum in particular could seem pretentious but in reality it is just because the members are looking out for excited noobs. Their really is a chance you can do long term damage to your HPTA if you do roids before mid 20's. That being said you are a grown man and can do whatever you like. Drink yourself to death or juice yourself into possible TRT for life, makes no matter to me. I would be glad to PM you a perfect beginner cycle for a cyclist. They are posted all over the place anyway. As long as you know the risks, it's up to you.

I appreciate the help. I don't have permission to send PMs yet for some reason so I'll do some more research of my own for now.
