Old guy asked me a question that I really can't answer....TRT? SUPPs?
Hey guys my own cycle of prop and dbol is 10 days in and going smooth.
But my question is for my wifes uncle. He got into my muscle mags and noticed all the adds about NATURAL TEST BOOSTERS that claim to make you a powerhouse in the gym and the bedroom. He then asked me: "so this testosterone stuff...will it give me energy and focus? will it improve my libido?" I looked at the particular add and told him that it was a garbage supplement with crazy claims. But the question he asked gives me the impression that hes been possibly feeling lethargic? unfocused? and that his test might be low or hes not happy with his bedroom preformance and so on. So my question is what advise would you give to a 59 year old male who is at a healthy weight and has a physical job (iron worker) and smokes (tobacco and weed) and won't quit (lets face it hes almost sixty and been smoking both since he was fourteen). Is there any supplements that may give him a noticable boost as far as energy and sex drive go? I know this is a supplement question and should be in that category but I was also wondering about TRT. Is that something that a guy entering his sixties should bother with? Anyone have any good experience with it?
Thanks

It would be best posted in the TRT Forum to be honest. The best thing he can do is get complete BW done which is in the stickies in that forum. Otherwise, we're guessing. Then he would know where he stands and can take corrective action if needed. Any age is perfect for TRT if your endogenous production is in the tank and can't come back naturally due to primary or secondary issues. In the meantime have him supplement with vit D which will raise his free test level. Look into some cialis for daily use for him if he won't go to the doc.

Seriously it's time for him to give up the weed. Jefferson airplane has landed. That will make him lethargic at 59. Weed made me lethargic at 21. And add to that the constant munchies and it's a recipe for disaster imo. And most men that age are candidates for TRT, unfortunately part of the ageing process. With that said TRT can bring him back to life if that is his problem and nothing else going on health wise. But as said above his doctor knows best through taking blood work to see what is going on inside the ole body. and if he has insurance I'd encourage him to go as soon as he can to get started on feeling better.

At that age, there's really no reason for not trying to get a TRT script. The odds are strong his test levels are low. Further, as long as his prostate is OK and his cholesterol isn't through the roof, the advantages of TRT will far outweigh any disadvantages he may have with his health. Testosterone is one of the safest hormones we can take. It's not a foreign substance, our body is very familiar with it and for a middle-aged man and up it just makes good sense to use exogenous testosterone.
