Try to keep your hand steady, buddy. You want to also consider rotating injection sites Hope you feel better!

I do inject slowly. I also push the needle in slow. Is that ok? Also i do my own in the glutes. Sometimes its hard. Where else would you guys recommend shooting?

Delts are very easy. THe fact that you said it's hard to inject in the glute tell me that your hand may not be steady, causing the muscles to tear inside and flareup. Give delts a try

My wife (the nurse) gives me the glute shot and it's always a little sore. I do my quads myself (sitting with leg straight) and have yet to have much noticeable pain. BTW no way would i push the needle in slow.

I always push the needle in slow, but not when i first break the skin. That is like a dart action. A quick pierce, and then in slowly. If i feel a nerve, i back it out just a bit.

First off, what length and gauge needle are you using and do you load with a different needle?

Probably just moving the needle around too much sometimes. It happens to me on occasion

Many factors contribute to PIP as mentioned in this thread already.
    - virgin muscles
    - needle gauge/length
    - volume of gear delivered
    - size of muscle
    - concentration of compounds
    - length of ester(s)
    - steadiness of hand(s)
    - frequency of injections
    - number of sites used (more is better)
    - scar tissue

The more sites you can inject, the better. Ideally you should not inject in the same area more than once every 7 days, preferably once every 14 days to allow recovery and reduce fibrous tissue from developing (scar tissue).

The more concentrated the gear, the more discomfort generally. I find blends to cause more PIP than single esters. I usually find the area, clean it and then commit by making a single direct penetration. You'll know if you hit a nerve or vessel. Hesitation and uncertainty often leads to greater trauma. Smaller gauges are best and reduce potential for skin cores which can increase infection risks.

PIP is part of the process IMO. Sometimes there is no/little PIP, other times its more unpleasant and you learn to treat it symptomatically as needed.

I prefer using a 1'' needle, but I might be the only one.

1" is good for most. I can get away with 1/2" in delts (only).
