    BEGINNER AND FIRST CYCLE!!!!! % Bodyfat

    Starting Monday this will be my first and beginning cycle;

    Testosterone Ethanate- 250mg for 12 weeks.

    Will adjust as I go to see if I will bump it to 500mg or 750mg a week.

    My diet is clean, right now high protein and low carbs. Which I realize I will probably have to bump up the Carbs a bit.

    I lift 5 days a week, three days cardio in the morning. My current stats are;

    Age:43
    6'0
    230
    20% bodyfat

    and for PCT I am considering clomad

    My question is before I begin this do you guys think my bodyfat should be a little lower or am I fine with 20%? Thanks

    It's on the higher side. If you want to minimize sides I would drop a few more % bf.

    I agree with SG. Youre BF is a bit too high here bro. I would reduce that to around 15% before you begin otherwise you may be headed down a bumpy road plagued with unwanted sides that are not always easy to control.

    Hit the Nutritional Forum up for some advice on dieting and bring that BF down.

    And no need to titrate up with your Test. Start out at 500mg/wk and leave it there for your duration. Make sure you have an AI, hCG and PCT lined up BEFORE you begin.

    Personally I would try to ATLEAST get to 15% to be on safe side. And when u do run cycle. Your gonna want an AI and HcG . And run nolva with clomid for pct.

    I just asked the same question not long ago as I'm starting my first cycle, my BF is 15% and an experienced member TJ stared that its on the high side. I'm almost 39yo. I would say based on what I was told that yours is high as well.

    What sort of sides will you get if your bf is higher than recommended?

    Got another question for you guys. Where as my bodyfat is kinda high as you indicated. My Testerone levels were a low. Do you guys think I still should take some body fat down before I start. The test was 1.22 ng/ml total test form a range scale of 1.75-7.81

    Higher fat % = more estrogen = more risk of gyno during cycle. Get it down, then start. 250/wk is fine. You will see good gains.

    Op, you mentioned low test. You're 43 years old. Before you embark on this journey you need to have complete BW done to see exactly where your levels are. You very well may be a TRT candidate now. There's a sticky thread on the HRT Forum called Finding a TRT Doc. In that are examples of BW you should get for a proper diagnosis. BW may reveal a minor issue somewhere that is suppressing natural T production. Be nice to have higher levels naturally, don't you think? Many, many things can cause low T.

    It would seriously be the wise way to begin before you start anything. If for nothing else other than knowing what levels your striving to return to after your cycle is done, IMHO.

    Kel, thanks for the advice. I will go to that forum but just wanted to say. I had complete bloodwork done and everything came back normal except the Tes and LH was low. Did a MRI and no Pitutitary Tumor. but I do suffer from Mild Sleep Apnea which could have brought my levels down

    Kelkel is definitely the man to talk to about this sort of an issue. He'll steer you in the right direction!

    But to answer previous questions in the thread,

    Higher body fat = more estrogen conversion, which leads to possible gyno, fat gain, raised blood pressure, water retention, etc.
    Many users will run 400-500mg/week on their first cycle. If you have been having low T for a long time, you would probably see a significant change with just the 250mg/week. I agree with Kelkel, you should dive into the reasons you have low T and get situated with a doctor for TRT or correcting the problem before sticking yourself with pins and playing doctor on yourself.

    Typically, people will use Clomid and Nolva for PCT, along with HCG during cycle up until the start of PCT.
    Clomid to restart your body's hormone production, Nolva to manage estrogen during pct, and HCG to keep the boys full size and prevent atrophy.

    Thanks JTathlete. Do you think Sleep Apnea could bring level down? I know this is not the thread for this so I have posted a thread over in HRT if you want to answer me back there. Thanks
