how much do you gain? lose?
new guy here been reading alot on here and trying to learn some.
i've always heard that once you go off steroids you lose it all.
so my question is for a new guy (never done a cycle) 5'7 155 lbs. what would be the average gain on say and 8 week cycle? providing diet and everything was right.
next question is after you go off how much of what you gained would you keep on average? providing your pct was done right.
talking one 8 week cycle here.

no one can give you an exact answer.. everyone is different..
could be anywhere from 0-30 lbs..

and those that loose it all once they come off, probably shouldn't have been using AAS to begin with..

Caliric intake will be the major deciding factor in how much you lose. If you weigh 155lbs and gain 15lbs on cycle, then cime off and eat like you did at 155, you'll end up weighing 155.

well for me, depending on my caloric intake after cycle, and how well i do on PCT i lose around 20% of my weight i put on. "BUT" got to remember water bloat, and my appetite always drops in PCT quite a bit. but if i put on 30 pounds i only lose 6 to 8 pounds which isnt bad. this is for me, and definitely doesnt apply to others.

up too 30 lbs on an 8 week cycle? thats alot. i personally would like to gain about 35 to 40 pounds of muscle total and lose about 10 to 15 lbs of fat for a total weight around 175 180. not really looking to become huge just more muscular.
i actually have a smaller frame so that would be pretty big for me.

You only lose it all if your training and diet were off anyways.

MickeyKnox i read that before i posted. good read
i'm talking if someones want to gain 35 to 40 lbs of muscle. lets say it takes 2 cycles. but then never does anymore cycles.
i personally would just want to do a couple of cycles and gain say 40 lbs of muscle and stop. and never do another cycle. but keep that 40 lbs of muscle

You will NEVER gain 40lbs of mucsle in one cycle or even two. Its a fallacy that you will gain that much. You will, however, gain 15-25lbs of weight or more depending on how crappy your diet is - which is a mixture of water fat and muscle.

Are you referring to LBM? Lean body mass? If so, no you wont gain that much. 10 pounds of lean mucsle is a LOT. I dont think you understand how difficult it is to gain 1 pound of lean mucsle tissue - and then hang onto it.
If i, or any average AAS user, gains 5 to 7 lbs of LEAN muscle tissue on one cycle, we're doing extremely well.

Hello, I agree with what has been said. Eat right and train through the slump like a beast and you can hold allot. But each person is different and it is also dependent on what you weight gain is made of. But you can only build so much mass in so much time and that's different for us all. ...crazy mike

Like so many things it's very dependent on genetics. Many say you have to train just as hard once you come off if you want to maintain the strength and size you gained on cycle. However, depending on the person this is not always true. In fact, I believe the opposite to be true for many...a majority? I'm not saying that, but it is the case for some of us.
I wish I had figured this out for myself before I did...wasted a lot of time. However, for me once I come off gear it's best to back off the training a little. This doesn't mean you train half ass, it simply means you train smart. Take away the high influx of hormones and you cannot recover as fast as you did with the high amount of hormones. Further, cortisol levels often go up when off, and keeping the intensity just as high as when on will make this worse. Granted, PCT helps with this, but it does not completely remedy the problem.
Another point, many say you have to eat just as much off cycle to maintain your new size and strength. There is some truth to this, but for some it can be disastrous. Cortisol levels are now up, the metabolism is normally going to run a little slower when off. While you can control some of this you cannot maintain what was when on. Personally, if I were to run an off-season cycle and continue to eat like I did on cycle once off my body fat levels would go up more than I care for and more than what I can deem acceptable.
So if you're a guy like me, you might be asking "what's the point?" If you have to back off your training and reduce your calories a little bit won't you lose all you gained? Well, that depends. If you come off cycle for any decent length of time and you have surpassed your genetic limit, no matter what you do you will slowly begin to revert back towards your genetic limit without the excess hormones in your system. Just as it takes a certain amount of calories to support a specific level of size and strength it also takes a certain level of hormones in the body. The body built that tissue and gained that strength with the help of those hormones, take it away and maintaining it all is difficult to impossible. This is why a lot of guys who have cycled for a long time will implement fewer off cycle periods. This doesn't mean they do not come off, but they certainly don't cycle once every year or two and expect to maintain all they gained on cycle. If they do expect this or believe it, unless they have freakishly remarkable genetics they're only fooling themselves.

Im currently doing test e 500mg per week.... 1st cycle
I am exactly 8 weeks in to it....
I have gained about 15lb so far and I look a bit bigger but nothing spectacular, I had thought it would transform my physique... stupidly!!
I have another 2 weeks left..
I have got a fair bit of fat gain though... getting decent strength gains
I would not do a cycle of just 8 weeks if it was enanthate ...
I am planning to do an 8 week prop cycle next time round and see how that works out for me!
