The chance of developing Wellbutrin XL withdrawal symptoms may increase if you abruptly stop taking the medication. Therefore, if you are going to be taken off Wellbutrin XL, your healthcare provider may slowly decrease your dose to help minimize the symptoms of withdrawal. Symptoms associated with this type of withdrawal include dizziness, headaches, and insomnia.

Just taper off of it for your own safety.

You should talk to ur doctor about this. You need to taper off of this. I have experience coming off another anti-depressant abruptly. Everything seemed fine for the first few days but the withdrawal symptoms come on slowly.
I wouldn't try it again. Why wouldn't you discuss this with ur doctor? Just my 2 cents.

What symptoms did you have? And did the subside or persist?

Tough to explain, but sort of like dizziness. Every so often I would feel a dizziness or "out of it" sensation. Had it once or twice and didnt think much of it, but with each day it was happening more frequently. Happened with Zoloft for me.

You have a risk of seizures on welbutrin if you consume alcohol . Almost eliminating you if you aren't prone due to alcohol consumption .

    I was on wellbutrin XL.
Do NOT just stop taking it cold turkey.

Ask your doctor what they recommend for a way to taper off.

    This is what I did:
Taper to 75mg for 3-4 days
taper to 50mg for 3-4 days
taper to 25mg for 3-4 days
    off

    or you could do this:

taper from 100 to 50mg for 7-8 days
    stop taking it

I'd suggest the first one, you're least likely to have withdrawal effects.
Severe depression and mood swings is one, i believe seizures is another. Quitting this cold turkey is not something to be 'proud of' like quitting smoking cold turkey.
    It can kill you.
